Hi All,

Well, my boyfriend was transferred to Hancock this morning... He was at Baldwin. I was going down for a visit this weekend but my whole schedule and familiar things has changed.

Can anyone tell me any particulars about visitation at Hancock? I'm leaving Saturday morning. I have a longer drive now and no clue where to stay Saturday night.

They've been transferring people out of Baldwin on a pretty regular basis lately. Makes me wonder if it's on the list for closing.

This discombobulates my world right now..I have to learn a new routine and a new place.

Last time I was out there - there was one hotel called the Sparta Seven Hotel. Good luck with that (gross). There are some hotels outside of Sparta within 20 miles, mostly in Baldwin County. Best Western, Comfort Inn, etc.... but they are in Milledgeville. Sparta is a tiny tiny tiny town. There is NOTHING in this town, believe me.

Thanks for the info..I have been there once since I posted and have figured out that I can go right back to the hotel I stayed at in Milledgeville :-) You're right, Sparta is a blip. Except for the prison I'm not sure how the town sustains itself.
