This is addressed to: The Government and Legislative Affairs division of the
American Correctional Association (ACA)
1/16/04 RE: WSPF prison in Boscobel, WI
Response requested please:

Dear ACA,

I have been reading more and more everyday of the injustice at WSPF. Is it
my understanding that at the warden's discretion he could hold inmates at WSPF
indefinitely? Or is there a time frame or a policy that is implemented to
serve as some guideline for how long a non- violent offender can be housed there?
Regardless of the warden's decision for retaining an inmate. The political
prisoner is damned, the non violent inmates are damned the senior citizen as
well are held back from advancing from WSPF because of the wardens influences for
keeping WSPF looking full and warranted. Do you people make these rules or
is this left up to the warden as well, we're lost for understanding here.

Is there a hand booklet or something that we can obtain to better educate
the public on the issues of WSPF? We need to know what WSPF can and cannot do
regarding the unfairness and errors of the warden that keep inmates there on
low levels of a foolish repugnant leveling reform system that simply is not
working for anyone, and also is so acquisitively taking our WI tax dollars to
experiment on its inhabitance by torturously holding these men in total
devastating isolation cement cages as long as they have for years on end? If you don't
have these answers could you please tell me who does? Does WSPF come with a
manual of its mission, please do not tell me it's the warden's mission we
already are aware of this fraudulent mission. Also, who is it that over sees this
particular prisons system?

Why isn't they're an independent committee watching over WSPF to make sure
we don't have a modern day Hitler running the show there? The signs are
showing that this is exactly who we have running WSPF. I know the warden will not
allow anyone to enter and see the madness that WSPF is doing to the U.S.
citizens incarcerated within them walls! Something has to change, no one man should
have this right of unjustifiable torture to any human being let alone all the
human beings caged as animals at this government supported facility. This is
a bazaar facility and it needs to always remain in the public's eye! Out of
sight out of mind with this issue does constitute blind justice!

Thank you,

Response is:

Ms. Dorn unfortunately there is little that I can do to be of assistance in this matter. The State of Wisconsin would be responsible for the administration and operations of the WSPF facility. I would urge you to contact the facility for information on its mission and programs, as well as your state representatives and the governor's office.

Regards.

i put an article about the wi appeals courts judge decission on here a couple weeks ago. the doc appealed the deal they made with the inmates and lost their appeal. so as far as it stands right now the doc still has to hold up to their deal.
here is the thread

I would think the suggestion to write the governor and legislators also would be a good one.

HI,

It is my first day on this forum. I don't have a husband in Wisconsin but I do write with a prisoner in the supermax since one year. I'am sorry for my bad English but I am Dutch, so English is not my native language.

kind regards,

If you guys want to get involved in reform at Boscobel, a good place to start is to email Peg and Ron of the FFUP (forum for understanding prisons) They are very involved with inmates and reports of injustice at WSPF. Email address removed by Forum Leader – Please see PTO Policies and Rules.
Another resource I've been trying to utilize is the prison reform meetup online. The address is prisonreform.meetup.com. We need to get enough people involved who actually want to do something about the issue.
