View Full Version : Branded with my love
Amelia 03-29-2002, 11:41 PM I just wanted to share this with you guys (seems I want to share everything with you all these days)
I spoke to Stephen tonite and he told me he had put MY NAME under the tattoo he already had..he assured me everything was very clean which was my first concern(Praying he doesnt get some kind of infection) But the reason I am posting it is because Our relationship had been quite rocky for the past year (bad communication--funny how all we have is communication now) I had always teased him about getting a tatoo with my name and he had always refused and joked that it wasnt him to have a name on his arm..Outwardly I laguhed about it but it really hurt that he didnt want to "proclaim" his love for me(immature I know but...) So when he told me that I cried and he said he was sorry for being an ass for the past year and all that had gone on...he said he values and cherishes me more than ever now and it felt real good to hear that...we had become so comfortable with eachother and now I feel like he is my "boyfriend" again if you know what I mean..like we are IN love again...Well that is my silly little story that I wanted to share with you guys...hope I didnt bore you TOO much..hahaha...
jdswifey02 03-30-2002, 06:57 AM You didn't bore me at all.... :) I am glad the two of you are getting closer and your relationship is being renewed!! :)
Not bored at all....It's nice to hear about good feelings in a bad situation. Are you going to get a tattoo with his name now? :D
Amelia 03-30-2002, 02:29 PM I was thinking about it...but it HURTS!! :D I am going to do it in the next few weeks..I have wanted to sice he went away but I am CHICKEN..hahaha...I saw his today at visiting and it was so nice..they really do a good job with the limited resources they have...with such a tealent too! Thanks for letting me share a lil happy moment!! :D
Shortie 03-30-2002, 09:41 PM You know sometimes when you share your stories I feel like I am talking to myself. It is unreal at times. Anthony tattooed my name on him.. See I beat him to the punch I got his name on me in Sept. I never wanted anyones name besides my babies on my body. yet I got anthony's strange how that works huh..
I am glad that you to are falling back in love with one another funny how GOD does things sometimes huh!! It is nice to see some good come out of this maddness... Keep it up and thanks for sharing.
Fed-X 03-30-2002, 11:17 PM I think some of your would be shocked at some of the "ink" they sling in the joint.. I was tempted to get one from a partner of mine while I was there. He is a pro that owned (probably owns again) his own shop in Utah. I just didn't want to risk the Hepetitis C that is rampant in there. That's not to say that if you get a jail-house tatt you will get it.. I just didn't want to risk it..
Amelia, yes.. they do hurt.. but they are addictive big time! :)

Amelia 03-31-2002, 01:10 AM Any suggestions anybody on where and what is the best to get?
BillnDenise 03-31-2002, 11:45 AM This is my first post on this site. I'm glad that I found you all. My boyfriend, Billy had my name tattooed on him right after he was moved to the federal facility. He told me that he had a surprise for me. When I visited he said, "look" and to my amazement, it was my name on the inside of his wrist. I was shocked but happy!! :)
jdswifey02 03-31-2002, 12:15 PM Denise... Welcome!! Hope to see more posts from you...
Amelia... on the tattoo issue... make sure it is a design you like and make sure you put it somewhere you will be comfortable with it being FOREVER... I now have one tattoo, the design for which I had for 2 years before I actually had it tattooed on me (figured if I still liked it for that long, it was worth doing....) :) I put it on my chest, in a place where it is covered most of the time, but where I can show it off when I want to... :) But they are addictive... I can't wait to get another... am seriously considering getting one of the graphic I use for my avatar... of course JD had a suggestion about where I could put it, but I won't share that... :D
Shortie 03-31-2002, 03:58 PM Hey I have to laugh about JD :) Well it is less painful on the breast mostly becuase there a fat there. Make sure you really want to get it. Yes the are addictive I now have 9 of them. It has taken me 12 years to get them all. So just remember it is forever. I used to tattoo on the side at WYLD BILLS in CA. So I have see a lot of stuff. You would be surprised.
Just think about it and get the pattern drawn up way before you get it done. Anthony just got one which is tight but I think he is not going to like it latter but I could be wrong.
sherri13 03-31-2002, 09:10 PM FOR CHRISTMAS, RON TOLD ME HAD A SURPRISE FOR ME-I WENT TO VISIT AND HE HAD A TATTOO AROUND HIS UPPER ARM WITH BARBED WIRE WITH A HEART IN THE MIDDLE WITH MY NAME IT--I CRIED LIKE A BABY-B/C IT SOLIDIFIED SOMETHING FOR ME, AND B/C I KNOW HE HATES NEEDLES--BEST CHRISTMAS GIFT I EVER GOT

Shortie 04-01-2002, 08:17 PM It is amazing how you feel when you see your husband/loved one tattoo your name on them. It really just shows you something that maybe they were not able to say. It will be daily reminder of there love and the committment they are willing to make. I think it is a great token of love.
sherri13 04-01-2002, 08:36 PM I COULD NOT AGREE MORE SHORTIE
Amelia 04-01-2002, 11:04 PM That is exactly how i feel .... aaaaaaaah! I miss him so much...:(
Shortie 04-02-2002, 07:55 PM Is it great to fall back in love?? Cherish it honey
badgirl 04-06-2002, 08:09 AM My husband surprised me with an angel with my name under it that he tattooed on his inner forearm himself just before Christmas. I am going to get his name tattooed on me - just not sure where yet! I was going to it done on my ring finger but a friend told me they go 'bad' (fuzzy or something) quite quick so I will have to reconsider. I only have one tattoo to date - a lizard on my left foot :)
Goody's Girl 04-06-2002, 10:39 PM Amelia, my husband surprised me by having my name put on his arm. This after telling me for the past 5 years he would NEVER get another tattoo. At the time he only had one, he now has 4.

JimsBabyGirl 04-06-2002, 11:53 PM I'm curious as to where you have had your men's names put on you? Did you have some type of art done also/included with the name? (yeah I'm thinking about it too)
Kelly
Daveswife 04-07-2002, 02:14 PM I had the chinese symbol for loyalty put on my ankle with my hubbies initial under it. He didn't want me to get it, cause he hates tattoos on women, but I really wanted to. IT HURT LIKE HEEEELLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!! I won't be doing that again.
Shortie 04-07-2002, 09:10 PM lol I have to laugh that you got so graphic about how bad it hurt. I could almost feel it. I have a teddy bear that athony drew me on my chest with his name under neith of it.. He loves it.. I think he just wants to see my chest.> LOL
soraya 04-08-2002, 04:02 AM I was planning on getting Darrells name tattooed on my breast where my heart is. because that is where my baby is. he told me not to do it....he's a muslim and muslims aren't supposed to get any tattoos. so now he doesn't want me to get any neither. but hey, as some might know, i'm a tattoo addicts, so i might get it done anyway hehehehee...oh yeah, it just hit me i never told y'all that darrell is a muslim....makes it extra hard at times
ad if anyone has questions about getting tattoos, i have been under the needle for more then 40 hours, so feel free to ask :D
Shortie 04-08-2002, 07:45 PM I understand that being a muslim may feel like it is harder.. I have a friend who is a muslim and it does put a different spin on things.. Amazing how that is huh...
soraya 04-09-2002, 01:30 AM yeah, it's true. He's a converted muslim, since he has been in prison. he became a muslim 4 years ago and can sometimes be pretty extreme. Not to me though. He sends me books to study Islam and that;s what I do. Not only for him but also because I'm interested myself. He does know that I'm not planning on becoming a muslim myself, because I don't agree with everything they say and do. He respects that, so it's cool. But sometimes things can be confusing.
jdswifey02 04-09-2002, 09:44 AM Soraya....
JD is also Muslim... It hasn't really been all that challenging for us.... With the Muslim faith (as well as with all others) there are differing beliefs from traditional to liberal.... Thankfully, JD is a more "liberal" muslim... I also have done a lot of reading up on Islam and share in some things with him (ie: I observed the schedule of fasting and prayers with him during Ramadan...)
Just yet another thing we have in common!! :)
soraya 04-09-2002, 11:40 AM yes indeed! I'm glad to know that. I'm also planning on fasting during Ramadan this year. Darrell is more extreme though
badgirl 04-09-2002, 12:23 PM Hey Soraya - do the DOC make allowances for Darrell's religious beliefs? I mean, I saw you mention that ones genitals aren't allowed to be seen unless by your spouse. And do they allow Darrell to fast and have a specific diet if he needs one? My husband used to be Buddihist but he grw spiritually and now follows the Wicca path and as a Buddihist he got beans, beans and more beans. I won't go into how he gets treated now because it makes me angry.
Amelia 04-09-2002, 02:00 PM Hey Joolz my sister did a lot of research into the Wicca religion and it is so interesting...I was glad she shared everything she learned with me!! :D
Shortie 04-09-2002, 08:49 PM Some prison do accomadate for religous beliefs.. They kind of have to here it is an amendment in the constitution so they can get sued if they don't try and make some allowances.. I am not sure how far they go or what they do or do not do but they must make some accomadations.. At lease one would assume
badgirl 04-10-2002, 02:08 AM Hi Amelia - yes Wicca is interesting. Does your sister practice it is? I am a relative newbie to it so I am still learning a lot of what goes on but it is an incredibly peaceful, loving path to follow : ) Joolz x
soraya 04-10-2002, 04:36 AM Well, I know Darrell fasts. But the way he do it is just save up his food he gets during the day until the time he is allowed to eat. I haven't asked him if they still try to give him pork. But as far as the other things concerning his religion, they try to make it as hard as possible for the muslims in there. Like I said, a muslim has to grow a sunnah (beard), but they get put on lock down when they refuse to shave it off and all that...
Shortie 04-10-2002, 08:55 PM Is that amazing or what.. Just another thing they take away from them huh
soraya 04-11-2002, 01:30 AM yep. I 'm not sure if it really has anything to do with his religion, because they make it hard on everyone...but I must admit that it only became worse after 9-11 :(
Daveswife 04-15-2002, 08:31 PM My husband just got another tattoo. It's the Sacred Heart with my initials at the bottom. This is his second in six months and now he's getting another one. He says that they have nothing better to do than draw on each other. If that's the case, he's going to be covered by the time he comes home. You'd think he could find something else to do with his time and my money. LOL
Tiffany 04-15-2002, 11:03 PM My husband is constantly sauing that he wants me to get a tattoo. What is is about those things? I think it really functions to make him feel better. He is gonna get one too, but not until he gets out. He already has 3 from inside. It has never occurred to me why he wouldn't get one with my name on it in there...I mean he has never mentioned it.
AnthonysWife 04-23-2002, 12:20 AM I was reading posts before I posted my intro and ran across this thread. My husband already had 13 tattoos from his previous stint and has since gotten 10 more, 4 of which are new with my name on them. Then he had three others with his ex's name on them redone with my name!! Guess he really must love me!! LOL!!
soraya 04-23-2002, 02:16 AM yeah sounds like it. now he'll have you with him always
jdswifey02 04-24-2002, 07:21 AM I just gotta let you all know... I went to three different tattoo parlors to get an estimate for getting my little "avatar" design tattooed on me... My birthday is in May and JD's is in June.... I am thinking that would be a good gift.... for both of us!! :)
soraya 04-24-2002, 07:23 AM hey that'd be cool. Let me know if you getting it done and when?
jdswifey02 04-24-2002, 07:27 AM Probably in the next few weeks (will see if I can spare that much from the next paycheck... :) ) I will be sure to post a picture of it when it's done!!
soraya 04-24-2002, 07:36 AM can't wait! :D
jdswifey02 05-09-2002, 05:33 PM OK... just wanted to let you all know I am off tonight to get my avatar tattooed on me.... :) Wish me luck (and minimal pain!!) :) I figured that would be a nice surprise for JD's visit this weekend... :)
Fed-X 05-09-2002, 05:59 PM We'll be waiting for that photo. :)
David

jdswifey02 05-09-2002, 10:32 PM ok... so this picture probably isn't the best, but taken with my cheap little digital camera right after it was done... :)

jdswifey02 05-13-2002, 12:07 AM Thanks everyone!! JD was completely shocked (I had sent him the picture of the design and said it would make a cool tattoo, but didn't point out I was going to have it done...) He was very pleased!! It was fun to be able to surprise him!!
And Sherry... it didn't tickle... but it was worth it!!
