My sons father just arrived at Johnson's SP. I live in a different state and we will not be able to visit him. I am just curious about this place!?! Will he be safe? Is it a violent place? Why can't I find him when I do an inmate search? I know nothing about this sort of thing, but I just want to make sure he is okay. If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it...thanks

welcome to PTO... My hubby's at Johnson... He says it's pretty low key, not a lot of violence... His biggest complaint is the food... He says it's awful and disgusting, but it keeps him alive!!!

Now about finding him online... Are you checking www.dcor.state.ga.us (http://www.dcor.state.ga.us) ? That's where you should find him... If that's where you're looking and he's not coming up, there are a few reasons for that... He may not be in the system yet... If he's under First Offender, he won't show up... Are you trying to find him using more than one thing... Sometimes they have the names spelled wrong or transposed where the last name is the first and vice versa.... Try using his number or other factors... And You can also check for him on the PB's website... Even if he's under FOA he'll still show up here... www.pap.state.ga.us (http://www.pap.state.ga.us) It won't have a picture here, but it'll give you his TPM, EF#, major offense, etc...

If none of this works, call the GADOC and inquire with them...

The food is awful and they only get mail Monday through Thursday. They can only sent out package requests between the 1st and the 7th of the month. The building is old and they have a lot of cases of TB (the infection not the disease) other than that my man says he's in the real chain gang now compared to the facility he was at. He was at a private prison and the food and stuff was better there.
