Hello Everyone,

I just found out some very heartbreaking news today. My boyfriend was denied Parole. His next Review Date is January 2005, the Mandatory Release Date is August 4, 2008, and his Discharge Date is May 9, 2014. Can anyone tell me what all this mean. Do this mean he won't come home until 2014, if not what I can I do to make sure he can come home sooner.

I believe this means that he is eligible for parole in 2005 and that his MAX time is 2014. I am not sure about the mandatory release date, but I think it means he CAN be released then if that is what the board decides.

I am sooo sorry that he was denied!

Unless the criteria for special review are satisfied, the file would be reviewed again in one year. Special review will basically require a letter from judge, sheriff, DA or the victim requesting the file be reconsidered.

When he gets released cannot be determined until at least the next vote, and without knowing the reasons given on the current vote, it is difficult to say what areas need to be given additional emphasis at the next review. First review votes are always difficult, especially will all of the malicious rumors about significant increases in release rates...those rumors cause too many people to build up false hopes.

The projected release date is subject to the discretion of the Board unless the offense itself occurred prior to September 1996. If he had not been voted for parole release by that date, then the Board would vote on whether to release to Mandatory Supervision.

Well I was told he was denied because his criminal history and adjustment problems. His original offenses were in 89' and 91', but he's been in trouble since then.

Thank you for your help!
