I don't want to add to the hostility on this site, but I do have some opinions.
First I think it is great that you are so proud of your heritage. I am very confused. This website is supposed to be to help people feel they are not alone. I think some people are making people feel uncomfortable. My boyfriend is in prision, he is not Native American. I was looking at this site because my grandfather was. I thought maybe I could learn some things from you. My great grandfather was 100% crow..... I do not know alot about him he lived in Montana. My great grandmother brought my grandfather to Ky. My mother's side of the family has some cherokee. My question is would I be considered and outsider to you? I am not educated on these teaching, but I am interested now that I am older. I am 22 before these things did not seem to matter to me. What precentage are all of you? do you have to be 100% to be accepted? I also want to say that Toi_ama seems to be a great person and always has good advise. Not only in this forum but in all of them. She was the first person to reply to my first post. So believe me I don't want to offend you guys. *************

Hau sister
this is a very somewhat delicate question you bring up. You have every right to learn more about your heritage and you will be best served if you contact the Crow Nation and they might even have your great grandfather in archieves still and ask them about your ways. There are more than 500 nations/tribes on the turtle island and everyone got different ways and always it is best to be taught by your people. Does it make you a outside,no not really,as you have blood and want to learn more. Just a minute and I will find you the link to the Crow nation
tlc.wtp.net/crow.htm
And yeah you are right Toi-Ama is a wonderful sister. What you may find confusing is the fact that some of us arent willing to talk about the ways and we are really not in the position to be teachers either as it s up to the elders and the Holy people,if it sounds harsh then please understand that after so many years with cultural theft, exploitation and cultural imperialism it is needed to protect the ways, however,I wish you the very best in seeking your ancestry and you are very much welcomed in this forum dont think other wise although at times the debate can get a little steemed up.
All my love
