I lost contact with an old friend while he was still in prison, and now I am desperately trying to find him. I know he was supposed to be released in 2002, but I just recently began trying to find him. I've done exhaustive web searches for him, and have had no luck. Is it possible that D.O.C. would or COULD give me any information? I know that you can call and find out where an inmate is while they are IN, but what about when they get released? Will d.o.c. tell you WHERE the person was released? And can anybody offer any other suggestions? THANX!!

Hi, I was in your shoes before when I tried to find my hunny while I was with my dreadful ex-fiancee. Anyway... I suggest you call Oregon State Pentientary Visiting Desk at (503) 378-2597 and ask for the V.I.N.E. (Victims Information and Notification E-something) number. A friendly female officer's voice will give the number to you in a heartbeat!
Then you call the V.I.N.E. number that starts with an area code (877) 674... then stay on line to wait for a live person who has access to the ENTIRE database (not just juvenile, county jail, prison, etc..) or something like that... I actually have the number at my home, but I'm just bullshitting around on this website while at work! :ha: I'm *SURE* you will find out a lot of information and I'm VERY sure you'll be glad.

Eric and I began writing in 1998 and continued to write until sometime in 2000. Unfortunately, we allowed petty arguments to tear us apart and we lost contact. The last place I knew him to be was Snake River, in ontario. Before that, he had been moved around a lot, between osci, osp, and eoci. I know that he was due to be released sometime in early 2002. He is a FINE black man, 37-ish, about 5'11", 180 or so pounds, with a shaved head last I knew, although he can still grow a full head of hair. He always called me either Christenia (my full name) or UNIQUE, which was his nickname for me. Anyway, I thought I would put all this info in here, in case there are any former inmates reading this who may remember Eric and/or know what happened to him. Also, I thought if anyone had loved ones who were at SRCI during this time, you all could asked around amongst your loved ones and see if any of them know him. Hey, it's a long shot, but I figured it was worth a try!! ;)
