View Full Version : 1307 Baker st. - Harris County Jail - TX leaveyourhaton 08-22-2009, 08:54 AM Does any one know ANY info on this jail?? What is it like? Hard easy? ANYTHING will help please.. THANKS mamajmg 08-24-2009, 04:45 PM My son was at 1307 a very long time ago. He's since been at 1200 B. So I'm afraid I have no current information for you. Harris County jails in general seem to be in need of a heavy duty maintenance department. Commissary and pricing should be about the same for the jails. A bit pricey but not too bad. From what I understand - the guys get very bored as there isn't any form of activities. Watching television, writing letters, reading the paper, occassional visits and phone calls around their three meals seems to be it. I'm sure someone with recent experience will come along soon. Onaicult 08-24-2009, 05:23 PM my fiance was just transferred from harris county to state jail. he was in harris county for about 2 months. It's very very boring... He said he was in the calmest tank, so my view of it may be different, as I've heard that the gaurds are "meaner" at 1307, but my man never had any run-ins w/ gaurds or or other inmates. It is an older building, and kind of run down. Visitation is HORRIBLE. It's hard to hear, and the seats are uncomfortable. But it's worth it to get to see and talk to them for a few minutes. If there's any other info I can give you, please feel free to PM me. :) freentexas 09-12-2009, 01:14 AM Does any one know ANY info on this jail?? What is it like? Hard easy? ANYTHING will help please.. THANKS 1307 is Little Baker and 1200 Baker is the larger Jail. Little Baker is much smaller and is an older building...for women it houses the lowest risk inmates (L5). I dont know if the men housed there are low risk too but I would think so. I stayed in Big Baker but have talk to women who were in Little Baker. I was told that all the bunks and bathrooms where upstairs and the dayroom was downstairs ... Also that they had lockers for their possesions upstairs and that the bathroom had porcelian toliets and sinks not the steel ones we had in Big Baker. Overall it seemed to be a bit easier to be in Little Baker then Big Baker... Anyways that is all I know about Little Baker. |
