Clearly I don't have too much luck in this forumn, but I don't know where else to ask.
Is it a random luck of the draw, once you are in county and then sentenced to state jail, as to where you will land?
Has anyone had any success on requesting to be transferred to a specific state jail b/c the inmate's family lives there?

TDC doesn't place offenders close to home although they may wind up close as a matter of chance or luck of the draw. I hope this helps you.

We payed to have a request letter submitted. Is that a scam?? I mean, i know it's not garunteed, but hopefully it will help.

Do you mean you paid someone to send a letter asking for him to be moved to a certain unit? If that is what you are saying it sure sounds like a scam to me. Offenders family members can ask for an offender to be moved to a certain unit. Sometimes if a family member has a serious medical condition that prevents them from visiting because the have problems traveling TDC will honor the request but not always.

do you mean that you want him to do his time in nyc instead of tx? i'm not sure they'll allow that :( The only thing i've heard of, is possibly being paroled to another state, but i'm not too sure. I'm sorry. Hopefully someone will come along who does know.
