Okay so my man was an idiot and ended up getting in trouble and having his visit's taken away ! I am so mad at him... And now I have just said forget about getting married while he is in . He only has 3 months to go .That is if he stay's out of trouble :angry:Anyhoo most of you already know we are kinda having problems with where he will be able to parole to once his time is done . I was just wondering if maybe someone could tell me how soon they let you know if they have been approved or not ? I would think because he is down to a short time they would tell him pretty soon . Its driving me crazy . I am living with a family memeber and I am worried about getting my own place incase I end up having to move to Kansas . I need to let my job know if I am staying on or need a transfer .. If he is approved then I need to find a place for us to live !!! Is there someone he could talk to ? He tried the Unit team with no luck and I have called the office here But they had no info ! So has anyone had this problem ? Or can give me any advice ?

On his parole plan, where did he put he was going to live? Has he said anything about filing for interstate compact yet? Both of those should have been turned in by now.

Wait, I am confused. Are YOU waiting to find out if YOU have been approved, or if HE has been approved for parole? For him to live in Oklahoma on parole he will need an interstate compact, and you will probably be visited by a parole officer in Oklahoma about 30 days out from his release.

yea i was curious of the same pretty much... my hubby gave his plan for parole when he was in rdu.. im juss curious if they dont like his plan how much time would they give em to figure a new plan when that time comes for parole ya kno..
id ask him first off if hes ever givin a plan for when he is released to someone.. thats sad that his unit team leader couldnt even help also.. i would think they should know about all that...

Hey all , How's it going ? Yes he has put in for his interstate compact some time ago . He had siad they needed atleast three places so he put My aunts which is here in Ok , His brother in Nebraska and then they put I guess an alternative for there in Kansas which is a half way house. Mears I do belive was the place. Anywho they then told him that in order to go out of state it would have to be to a realitive and he could not use my aunt so he changed it to his sister ( who he does'nt get along with but she said it would be cool to use her as a plan ) So now its between those three . And we are hopeing its any place but the half way house ya know ! And its so hard to get anywhere with the people there in the prison on info . Like the whole deal with not getting anywhere with the untit team . He ended up getting 6 days added for going to talk to them , because he was supposed to go out and work that day but asked to lay in so he could talk to them . It was okay with his boss but when he went in to talk to her she pulled up his file and he had so many points on there that he was told would drop off after so much time but she said no they stick with you for life and threaten to roll him then wrote a DR for not working that day ! Its all a bunch of BS ! I understand they are in prison but why do they have to knock them down so much ? Their still people ! So thats about it thats been whats going on and why I was wondering when we might know something .

Ummm that was your boyfriends mistake. The correct thing to do is to submit the request to speak with a councilor AND still go to work. When called out from work it would have been excused and no DR would have been received.

I signed up just to respond to this question. I am a staff member at a prison here in Kansas (wish to remain anonymous, however) and wanted to give you some advice. There has to be something more to this situation, because the unit team would NOT roll someone just for coming to their office.

Also, parole plans start getting worked on 16 months before their release and sometimes aren't approved until the week of release. For an interstate compact to be approved, it must be to an immediate family member, not just a relative. An aunt is not considered to be immediate family and if you aren't married yet, neither are you. The state's contract with most halfway houses was terminated with the budget cuts, so if he's paroling to Mirror, he will probably have to come up with rent money.
