View Full Version : Parole Question
IrishEyes 01-16-2004, 11:32 AM Has anyone ALREADY been through the parole process with their loved one? My husband is looking at a May/ June parole appearance and I wanted to know when, where, etc,.. they might start their investigation process towards me and his other family, employment, etc,..
any input??? I sure appreciate it!
mrskendrick2you 01-17-2004, 06:09 PM Irisheyes... nope, sorry I can't be of any help to you. My man should be up for a parole hearing ANY Day now. So if something should come up soon then I will let you know as soon as I find out. Good luck!
Kalei151 01-17-2004, 07:05 PM I've been through the parole process for myself and my honey. It's simple when they check out the information that you give them. They may or may not come to the home to see how the living conditions are, if they're safe, clean, good neighborhood. And they will probably check any personal references listed, so make sure that everything is legit. What are your honey's plans, like employment, or school, also if he will attend any AA/NA mtg, and where they are, if needed. Just be honest with the Parole Board, you can't lose, unless something holds him back because of write ups or bad conduct reports while incarcerated. Good Luck to you, and I hope the outcome is positive.
Aloha, Kalei
mrskendrick2you 01-17-2004, 07:10 PM Kalei... thanks a lot! Even though this wasn't my thread, we will be going through that soon with my honey. Thanks!
jwahl 01-18-2004, 08:02 PM Irish eyes,
Does your honey already have a TPM, or is May/June when the board is going to look at him?
If he already has a TPM and May/June is his release time roughly a month before the parole officer from the county where he will be released to will contact you, depending on the county you live in and his conditions for parole, will depend on how closely they look at the residence and his plan. But as Kalei says you better make sure all they were told is legit.
On the other hand if he is just up for review by the board, unless you have a lawyer involved, you won't know anything. His counselor will get a letter from the board which will either give him a TPM or they will set him off until next review.
Hope this helps.

IrishEyes 01-19-2004, 05:46 PM Hi TPM isn't until 5/2022, (ugh!) but according to the pap board, he can petition for parole at 1/3 or seven years, whichever comes first. (May 04 makes seven down) We've got a great attorney, at least at 20K he'd better be!! And are believing God has David's path all lined up. Forgive the faith reference if it offended you.. so, I'm trying to figure out what's what with the home visit, etc,.. thanks for your reply..
jwahl 01-20-2004, 10:06 AM Irisheyes,
I see you're battling a similar battle to what I been going through with my honey. Faith is by far the best thing you got going for you and your loved one. My fiancee got her review like that back in July, our lawyer knew the approximate time but not exactly. She got the letter from the board before they even notified him. Those people on the parole board have very cold hearts. I've got twp lawyers working on my fiancee's case, last week after 2 years and some odd 20k the one just dimissed herself. And filling a bar complaint doesn't do much good. There are changes that the legislature is going to have to make in order to meet Perdue's budget cuts, I just hope and pray that they help people like your David and my Beth. I'll keep you two in my prayers.
John
