Thanks for sharing. My thoughts go out to him and his family. It's too bad there isn't any medical help close by, the prison really is in the middle of nowhere.

I got a letter today from my guy in ASPC Kingman. A black inmate was found dead in his bed after complaining of chest pains. Apparently he had a heart attack although it has not been confirmed that is just my assumption. The inmates discovered him and attempted to give him mouth to mouth but were ordered by the CO's to stop until medical came to the scene. They took in the words of my guy "FOREVER!" to get there and as a result the inmate passed away. I am not certain of the guys name, if my guy knew him I'm sure he would have told me, but none the less it is very very sad. If anyone has anymore information please post. this obviously happened within the last week..... Sadly he was only 2 weeks away from release!!!!! God bless his soul and may his family be comforted. He was so close to freedom. His soul is free forever and may he rest in the arms of the lord for all eternity.

not much we can do.. its happend a few times in my last 2 years dealing with it.. the COs have to stop inmates from administrating cpr.. they are not certified and its a liability for the prison... although, it seems like someting is better than nothin to me... there are only a handfull of inmates that have family strong enough to pitch a bitch.. we are very out numbered... if anyone has a loved one i prison. it is sooooo important for the inmate to sign a medical release every 6 months. if they dont, you cant call and get any medical info... THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!! one must be signed every 6 months... they need to put in an HNR and put the names of loved ones they want their medical info released to..a power of attorney isnt enough..

When I went to visit last weekend my husband told me about that inmate. It is truly sad that he passed away while in prison when he was only 2 weeks away from release. He had already served 8 years my husband had said. That's just so sad...I really hope is family is doing okay, that has to be a hard thing to swallow. He was an older man however, 62 I believe? My husband said that earlier in the day he had been saying he didn't feel well, turned on his fan and went to lay down. He passed away. So may he rest in peace, hopefully he's in a much better place now.

This is really good information! Thanks for sharing it! Do we have to be married in order for this information to be disclosed or can they choose whoever they want?

How sad that things like this happen in this day and age. I know nothing of this prison but something needs to be done in order to have fully trained medical staff on site at All times and an ambulance on standby. All the prison system seems to thik about are cutting costs at the expense of peoples lifes. Its bang out of order. if it were my loved one I would see if I could sue for negligence of some sort.
