This might be a niave or pointless question, but my fiance is on 1307 Baker, waiting on a hearing. He's been calling me every day-as this situation is new to both of us.
We were cut off on Friday morning, and the automated prepaid system says he last tried to call that day at 3 pm.
The prepaid account status is clear - i have plent of minutes on my phone, it's just not like him to not call.
The inmate lookup site still says he is in the same location. I'm just wondering if there's a different policy on the weekends about phone usage, or if anyone knows if their phones are down, right now? I'm just so worried.

is there a number i can call to find out if the phones are down, or they're not allowed to use them right now?

My son very recently left 1200 Baker - our experience is that the phones will work sporadically. There have been periods that he said he was trying to call but would continually get a recording for hours - then all of a sudden he could get through. We have been talking and a recording will pop in saying that special features are not permitted!! ?? Not even sure what that means! lol

So my point being - I believe what you are going through is the norm for the phone system. I hope that you have heard from him by now or gotten to visit so you feel reassured all is okay!

Thanks Mamajmg :) I did actually hear from him. He said there was a fight and they took away the tv, and he believes they also took the phones down on purpose, but they did come back up that following Monday. Actually, i think that was this past monday. This week feels like 6. Thank you for replying :) I hope everything is going well for you and your son!!:thumbsup:

I'm so glad you've heard from him! We know they're downtown but when we're missing those calls it just makes us worry! I tell my son it's learned behavior on my part! lol

Thank you - yes, my son is finally out of county and in a program which is also downtown. The visits are few and calls are none - but - it can only give him more tools to work with in his sobriety.

Chris was at 1200 Baker Street and he called me everyday. The only time we were cut off is when we exceeded the balance on the account which, since your account is clear, there must be a problem with the phone system. Don't worry though, those people make way too much money on the phones to let them stay off for very long.

The phones do cut off at night, they are not allowed to call after 11 I think.

Yea, last night our phone call didn't cut off until almost 11:30... Again, this morning he hasn't called. I'm trying not to get all worried, because i figure that it's a repeat of last weekend, but I hope he didn't get in trouble for being on the phone so long.
