My husband is in USP McCreary and they are talking about sending him to someplace with something called the Smooth Program in PA where they are 23 hours in and 1 hour out each day. He has not gotten into much trouble, the only infraction he had was that he had potatoes and oranges in a bag that was hung and the UA blew over the alcohol level due to fermentation.

I don't understand how one infraction could get him sent away. Anyone got any advice or insight or similar situations @ McCreary or good contacts with the staff there or BOP?

I believe it was USP Allenwood that was turned into a special management program where they are kept on lockdown primarily all the time. I could be wrong on this one...hopefully someone with 'better memory' will chime in. :p It does seem hard to believe they would move him to that program for that one infraction. Moves from infractions are common if it's a serious matter or continued matter that affects the security and well being of the institution.

Have you heard anything more on this?
