If I look up a record for someone that is incarcerated, is the posted release date really accurate? It's Everglades CI in FL.

Are you speaking of a federal inmate?

If so...on www.bop.gov is accurate.

Assuming you are talking about federal time, the answer is yes. However, that is time that does NOT include Halfway House time so he is released form prison a bit earlier. 10% or 6 months whichever is less.

Good time is already figured in? ( unless they lose "good time"?)

Good time is already figured in.....and if they lose it....you will see the dte get farther away! It took me the longest time to figure this out...

I've moved your post to the Florida forum. Hopefully someone here can better assist in helping find the answer.

They answer. I get transferred. No one answers. Ya know, I couldget a job working in that prison faster than I can get someone down there to speak to me. I'll wait for the letter or for them to actually put me on his phone list. I'm so mad I could just get politically active.

The out date you see on the FL-DOC site includes already earned gain time, and unless your friend has maxed out his gain time, then you will see the out date keep moving down until, probably, six months or so before his release date. If they get a DR, they usually lose anywhere from 30-90 days (or possible all) gain time days and that date will be upped some. The FL-DOC website is updated constantly and is very accurate. Hope this is helpful!

I was wondering this same thing because my boyfriend has constantly told me he was going to suprise me when he came home, but i told him I know his release date so he cant do that. But he says that its not accurate or that it may be a few days late if they dont update it right before he gets out. So how am i to know? And if i call, will they tell me?

The date is accurate as of the date you are looking at it as gaintime is not guaranteed. Gaintime is earned, not a given every month and can be taken away should an inmate be given a DR and be found guilty at DR court.

I would say definitely not accurate my boyfriend just got sentenced 5 years max January 7th 2009 and his release date should be 12/10/2013, DOC has 12/10/2018...definite error!:angry:his mom says its because they added in his 10 years probation...4 years 85% of his sentence and then the remaining 6 on probation would make it 2018...but still release date should be 2012 or 2013...anybody know why that is???? I'm worried but everyone says dont worry...that they cannot add more time to his sentence.

I was confused too but the the release date is where they stand now as time goes on and they earn the gain time the release date will change by 10 days each month. My daughter says December now but if she earns all her gain time she will get out in October.

If you have gotten to the Inmate Search page and found him, then you're half way there! Somewhere on that page will be a link that goes to when he will be released and other info. In fact, I think that's what the button sez "more info". On it will be (or should be) his release date. And yes, gain time is figured in. But there's an ugly side to this page - it is only renewed once a week, so his release date may have been changed. Also, if he has any detainers, he will be transferred to that county for further sentencing time or to be placed on parole and/or probation. I can't help you with getting in touch with someone who might be able to actually help with your problem except to e-mail the website of that particular prison and this is only for FL state prisons. I'm in sorta the same boat. My boy is supposed to get out tomorrow, but he has 2 detainers on release date. It sez to contact the county in question cuz the detainer maybe on a charge that ran concurrent to his current sentence, sometimes the county may have an old warrant on him, or another jurisdiction. Or he may have been on parole or probation and got VOP'd for it. He or you needs to contact the county. They migh just be able to help you. Good luck, Dear.:rolleyes:
