It's been two weeks since the last time I got a letter from my boyfriend, and I'm worried. He was moved to Corcoran SHU on 12/29/03, about two weeks ago, and the last letter I got from him was dated 12/30/03, and he'd asked me to send him money, stamped envelopes, and writting material. He also gave me his new address at Corcoran, so I sent everything to Corcoran, and I know they (at Corcoran) received everything, because I requested a delivery confirmation at the USPS. Anyways it's been 2 weeks, and I'm worried, I get the feeling that something's not right because he usually sends from 2 to 3 letters every week. I don't know what to do or think. Is there any way to find out if he's doing alright? I called Corcoran yesterday and the only information they were able to tell me is that he's still at Corcoran, and that they don't retain any mail from the inmates. What can I do? Or where can I call? Does anybody knows if something happened at Corcoran SHU?

Thank you for your time

Love,

Hi there...just wanted to let you know that just because they received your guys stuff doesn't mean that he got it. I know that where my husband is, it takes like 3-4 weeks just to get his letters from me. They take their own sweet time delivering mail in those places. I hope that you hear from him soon!

I just got a letter from my man today! and you're right lovin'life, they take their sweet time delivering mail, he hasn't got the stuff I sent him yet. I hope he gets them real soon because he has no paper nor envelopes to send me letters with.

Guy was at Corcoran from July of 2000 to April of 2002 and getting mail to him there was the most frustrating experience of my life. A 3-4 week delivery time was nothing unsual and at one point it took 5 weeks for him to get mail. He's at San Quentin now, and compared to Corcoran the 10-14 days it takes for him to get his mail is nothing.

Good luck and stay strong!
