So, my friend and I have determined, he can call me once every other day so that way we don't burn through his minutes. Well, he called me for his "one" time today and we are just catching up with each other so the first 5 min can sometimes be a little awkward but right after that, its all good. Well, I am SIX minutes in the call and solicitators is at the door. Well, I thought it was important. It was not. And I let him go ... I feel so horrible. We don't get hardly to talk but 15 MINUTES EVERY OTHER DAY! I just did the math and on average, thats only .5% of the day - not even a whole percent. And I told him to call me back but evidently they have curfew so he couldn't. And he is busy taking classes during the day (he has like 3 of them and then he plays in a band now) so I won't hear from him again until Wednesday. This is a big adjustment, I will tell you that much. We use to talk for hours upon hours on the phone - IM all the time, e-mail. There is so much we want to say to each other even without 4 years to catch up on. My letters keep on being 5-10 pages long. I can't help it! lol
I completely understand. My man has been down for 8 years and the people who matter to us, know our situation understand about that 15 minutes.. NOTHING else in the world exists. I do not answer the door, any incoming calls go unanswered. If I'm in line at the grocery store, I will step out of line and leave the grocery cart tucked away for that 15 minutes. If im driving i will pull over into a parking lot to talk to him.
People that know us joke that If the house caught fire and he called at the same time. I'd answer the phone first and He'd be the one to hang up on me to make me deal with it LOL :)

That s funny, but true. I know the feeling, what ever I am doing and I get that call, I stop dead smack in the middle and pick up that call, no interruptions during those few precious moments.

So true! My husband always catches me at the grocery store! My family and friends also know when i say there he is, boom, off the phone. We talk 8 to 10 minutes a day, sometimes the last two days of his month we talk 5 minutes.

I don't care who or what is happening, when the caller ID says unknown, it all has to wait. Nothing comes between me and those phone calls.

I know he calls between 7 and 9:15 pm now so I make sure during those times, I am doing something that can't be interrupted and have some peace. He called me last night as a surprise!
