My boyfriend is trying to get vocational training through a program that specifically helps Natives, but he does not have his birth certificate or CDIB (although court documents from his criminal case do indicate that he is a member of his tribe). He has been in contact with the people who run the tribe, but says that they may take too long getting what he needs. Classes start next week so he's really under the gun to ge these documents. Can he go directly to the BIA or some other place to get these documents?

I PMed you. Please respond ASAP. My poor sweetie has only until Monday at the latest to get his papers together, or else he won't be enrolled in the job training program. He has been in contact with his tribe, but they are not being as helpful as they could be. He is going to be so devistated if he doesn't get to go to school. I'm worried about him.

IT depends where his tribe is....I just had to send off and get mine again because i lost it. Does anyone in his family have a roll number? His mother grandparents??? If they do he can get an application and use there number, he will have to send in his birth certificate...I know it takes around 3 weeks in oklahoma to get it back, I'm in arkansas and have to send my information to durant oklahoma. My kids can go under my card till there 18 but they all have there own card.
