My son is being transferred to Darrington from Garza East. He has only been in four months and this will be his fourth transfer (county, Garza West, Garga East, and now Darrington).

He is aprehensive and so am I. This is our very first time with the "system".

Any information is greatly appreciated.
thanks,

Well, I guess it all depends. If you are talking about the facility itself then it is old, paint peeling, some bugs and rodents. Mold and mildew during this hot summer. I'm told that the showers are pretty disgusting. Now how that compares to other units? Porbably the same.

If you are talking about gangs and fights and such well, then it is what you make of it. One man's experience is not necessarily anothers.

The person I correspond with tells me of quite a few fights, smoking, fires and other things but he says it isn't that different from most.

If you have other questions just ask.

I am totally with you. My fiancee is now at Darrington and this is his fourth transfer as well. I hope all is well with your son and everyone's loved ones in Darrington.

Where do you currently live. If you live near Houston or Rosharon then he will close to you. The Darrington unit is in Rosharon. Not sure how long your son has but the "Garza" units are only transfer facilites and inmates usually do not stay there longer than 2 yrs. PM me if you would like to.
