Hi! Happy New Year! :)
I come to ask once again for your help. It's months now that i get no answer from my penpal friend from Florida's death row. You have told me before that i can call the chaplain, just to let him know that i care, but till now i have no number to call.
If someone can help, i would be gratefull!
Thanks. Ioanna from Athens, Greece.

Check out www.corrections.com and look under Florida prisons to locate the one your friend is at. They may have a phone number you can call. Ask for your friend's counselor, who may be able to tell you something and or get a message to your friend to have him/her contact you. That's all I can think of. I hope it helps. I know what is to worry about an incarcerated person.

Hi Ioanna,

That's really odd because I have had no problems with mail recently. What I might do is check the DOC site and see if he is out of dept custody, maybe he has gone to court somewhere and they have transported him? I know there are a few guys right now waiting in county jail for new trials etc. Also, you might try calling his classification officer (let me know if you need the phone number) and seeing that everything is ok. My friend once was on mail restriction and could not send mail out for 6 months. It was really tough on both of us.

Other possibilities....he might be out of money for paper and stamps to write you?

If you need help, send me a message and I can do what I can to help you out if I know his name. Otherwise, good luck and try not to worry too much. It's hard being so far away, isn't it?

Ionna my name is Sandra, i hope this helps you. when i do not hear from my friend on death row here in california. I send two papers, on the top of one i put i am ok and on the other i put, i am not ok. I have always gotten and answer. Some time when people are on the row, or in prison they have nothing to write about, so we get lows. you know the blues, so do they. Lacyblue

Hi Ionna,

I also have a penfriend on DR in Florida; your penfriend might have run out of postage; it is possible to actually mail in US stamps to UCI. Let me know if that is what you would like to do. I write to both Mike Lambrix and Kevin Foster on DR at UCI.

I had that situation too last year with an inmate on DR Texas. Then it turned out they had brought him to the county jail for some investigations and then they never transfer their funds and so he couldn't write...
It always had a reason. I'd never take it personally. Smile

Hi Ioanna, Perhaps your penfriend on DR at UCI in Florida has run out of stamps; you can actually send US stamps to your penfriend (which is what I do) but should you not be able to purchase US stamps, I'll glady help you. Just contact me
I will actually be in Florida, spending a long weekend at the beach in Neptune Beach, at the end of March and will also visit my penfriend on the row at UCI.
