Hey gang-
I just want to connect with other women or men who have loved ones, particularly significant others who are incarcerated in Virginia. I only recently found this forum, and am completely excited that I may finally meet others in my situation. I'm not going to bother anyone in the visiting rooms, knowing how important that time is to each of us, but would love to chat and share with others on the outside who can relate to the virginia system........

Write soon!

Hi and welcome to PTO although I am not in Virginia, my guy is there after being transferred through an interstate compact agreement. We are working on getting him closer to home, but for the meantime I have to deal with the VDOC and the long distance visits. There are several members who have loved ones in Virginia...they should be posting soon. What prison is your loved one in? Mine is in Waverly, VA...

hi there...my fiance is in the Southampton C.C. in Capron Virginia...I don't know much about Virginia seeing I am from the other side of the world...I have never been in this prison, I was in the Greensville C.C. a few times, but never here and they tranfered him last april...so I will have to go look for this prison in November when I come visit him. But if you want to know about this prison...my fiance knows lots more then I do....Nice to hear that you are from VA....I which someone out there has a loved one in this SHCC so they can tell me more about it ...
still...VA is the only thing I know in America. the only place I have been so far. hope to hear from you soon uaelremop.

YEAH!
I'm so happy that you guys actually replied to my post! Thanks for writing! My boyfriend (who is more like a fiance but I consider him my husband, as does everyone else!) is at Caroline Correctional Unit #2. Pamela--Waverly, that's Sussex, right? Theresa, where's your husband? Cindy, I'm very familiar with Coffeewood, long story! Let me know if you have questions about that place! Penny, you are blessed that your husband goes up for parole! Mine is under the new law so he's serving 85% of his sentence which sucks! I hear a LOT of guys are making parole lately. The new board is pretty cool is seems? Good luck to you both! Also Penny, where is your hubby? Hilde--Southhampton has a lot of younger guys in it, I know someone who was there for a while--he has since made parole and I have lost touch with him, but that's about all I know about Southhampton. They have the Youthful Offender Program there. But comparitively, as far as Greensville goes, Greensville is a lot harder, so be glad he's gone from there! Yes, I do my homework ladies! =) My sweetie gets out June 2005--how do I get one of those cool countdown thingies you all have?

Thanks again for writing, lets keep in touch!

Dawn,
Hello! Welcome to PTO! My husband is in Bland, Virginia and also will be going up for parole last quarter. I will be going to meet with a parole board member on Sept. 20th, this friday. As far as your letter to the parole board Daveswife is right, write what is in your heart, also the positive things he's done while incarcerated and the positive things he will do when he comes home! Once you start writing it should come to you! Make sure you put his institutional number by his name. If there's something i can help you with you can e-mail me at rainbowpenny@hotmail.com Have a good day!

Cindy,
Hello! I'm doing alright, just been busy working full-time, and busy getting everything ready for my visit with a parole board member, it was friday, our daughter and 8 yr. old grandson went with me! It seemed like it went pretty well. Larry will go up sometime last quarter, we don't have a date yet! Probably November but, i'll let everyone know! I don't live with our daughter and grandsons anymore, I got a place now that will be Larry's and my home!!! The GOOD LORD WILLING this will be the year!!!! We have waited so many years!!!! I know I haven't been around much but, I'm going to try and do better, now that things have settled down!! I'm really glad my meeting is over with!! At least I didn't have to drive to Richmond, my meeting was in Bedford!! Right when we were leaving Dana turned the radio on and FREEBIRD by Lynard Skynard had just started playing, then within a block there was a billboard advertising mobile homes and in Big Red letters it said FREEDOM and at the bottom said HOMES, talk about signs from the Good Lord!!!! Everyone please keep us in your prayers! Penny

Pamela,
Hello! Thank you! FAITH and the GOOD LORD are what has helped me all these years!! Those wonderful signs help alot too! There was also a Beautiful Full Rainbow on Saturday morning! I have a real special thing about Rainbows and I always take them as a good sign from the Lord, it started 14 yrs. ago that is when my father passed away. I had a Rainbow that someone had crocheted and I put it in my dad's hand and told him that would be our rainbow. He passed away Sept. 5, 1988 and on his Birthday Feb. 9, 1989 there was a rainbow that morning(in Indiana) and the newspaper said it was an unknown Phenomena, because there hadn't been any rain. I still have the rainbow and the newspaper clipping! So, I believe very much in the Lord sending signs! I won't get home from work until probably after midnight tuesday night so, everyone will probably already be gone from the chatroom. I switched jobs and my nights off will be fri & sat, I really like that though and it makes me not have to rush when i come home from seeing Larry! Then on sunday I'm not so tired when i go see him!! HELLO TO EVERYONE AT PTO!! Penny
