View Full Version : Federal Women's Prison Camp - Bryan, Texas - Pictures
Fed-X 09-07-2002, 01:32 PM Alright.. I don't live to far away and I thought I would put my semi-new digital camera to work. I know there have been a couple members that have self-surrendered to this very camp and I wish I had pictures for them prior to when they got there. Just in case we have more in the future, here are some pictures. I will add more when I can get back down there and actually walk around, rather than shoot them from a moving car, and get some more detailed photos.

offpaper 11-30-2003, 08:01 PM Having some photos of the facilities is a great anxiety reducer for those on way to them or for those having someone inside. The fewer 'unknowns' the better.
Thanks Fed-X
CHoffer 11-30-2003, 08:23 PM I agree. Thanks Fed-X, Hey could you take some new ones of the new boot class so I can see my girlfriend. lol :)
Queenofswords33 01-03-2004, 11:29 AM Great pictures, although seeing Bryan from the other side of the fence is strange but I prefer it! I actually recognize the smoker on the back porch of UNICOR!
Thanx,
Queenofswords33
Momcares 02-01-2004, 11:01 AM It was very helpful to our family. Daughter is now there and we can envision her day. We live in Florida so getting there will be a challenge.
Again, thanks for taking time to help us with these photos.
cjjack 02-02-2004, 10:53 PM I was released from Bryan last April-interesting to see it again!
sasilvn1 02-17-2004, 10:14 AM Aloha! My best friend is curently in San Bernardino lock up awaiting her transfer to Bryan, Texas. It looks nice, very green. She will feel alot better once she gets there. She has been at the Honolulu Detention Center since April of 2002. The FDC is located right at the airport, literally right out on the runway behind the wharehouses. She never got to go outside. She will appreciate the greenery. What exactly should she expect when she gets there? Any advice I can pass on to her? Someone put in a good word for her, make her feel comfortable. She is cool  and easy to get along with!! Crazy :rolleyes:sense of humor. I miss her!! We miss her!! She SOLID thru and thru! Her name is Lisa.
angie200425 03-28-2004, 09:24 PM where can I find pics of more federal prisons?
shirlav62 09-12-2004, 12:21 AM Thank you for posting the pictures. We took our daughter to Bryan on Aug. 25. We really didn't get to see much of the place at that time. We did notice that they have two large playgrounds for children with a lot of picnic tables in those areas.
Our daughters name is Dawn Zimmermann.
She is adjusting well and said her bunkies are great. She also said for the most part the CO's are ok. She also said it is very clean but it is cold in the rooms and many of the girls buy sweat suits to sleep in. She is in a hornicultural class and is taking sign language in the evening. She is also planning on taking a crochet class. She said there are many classes you can take to make the time pass quicker. Next time I write to her I will ask if the warden lives in the large two story house.
LH522 09-21-2004, 06:29 PM WOW! I was released from FPC Bryan in February 2001 after serving in the "Boot Camp", ICC program, looking at those pictures just gave me chills...LOL. Interesting to see it from the other side.
cjjack 09-21-2004, 06:48 PM I felt the same after I saw the pictures!! It is interesting to see it from the other side- I like it much better this way!
melw1025 10-01-2004, 06:49 PM Thanks, it helps to actually SEE where I'll be going.
taintexas 10-15-2004, 02:33 PM These pictures are about as close as you can get without being inside. The camp is in a depressed area of the city and there is razor wire on the fences. It's there to protect you from the area citizens. While I was there we had several events where men tried to get into the camp. They started locking the doors at night as a protection for us. The last few pictures are in the ICC bootcamp area. The challenge course (obstacle course) is for Seniors of the program and is an incredible thing to experience under Mr. Criacco's direction with ICC.

hollomanallen 11-12-2004, 03:46 PM These pics are great. It gives me a sense of what to look for when I get there. It lets me see where a lot of places are at already. If you get more please post them, I have until Jan 7, 2005.
jewelarkansas 04-23-2005, 09:30 PM Thanks for the pics, i self surrender june 13th 2005 i am so nervous, from arkansas 40year old white female, married 22 years two beautiful daughters and loving family any good info to help i am 12 months and 1 day wandering about how much time i will actually serve and also about halfway house
Momcares 04-24-2005, 10:53 AM My daughter is 41 this year, has two daughters (15 and 8) and a very loving family...you have a lot in common. Not sure her departure date but about the same as you. If you would like to know her name, to look her up, it would be fine with her I am sure.
She does not have a compaint ever! We talk once a week and write as often as we can. She is doing pretty well there, seeing her counselor often which is a big help. She lived in Houston, is a musician and web design master.
Let me know if you would like to touch base with her.
Her mom, Patty
kacib80 04-24-2005, 12:40 PM Thanks for the pics, i self surrender june 13th 2005 i am so nervous, from arkansas 40year old white female, married 22 years two beautiful daughters and loving family any good info to help i am 12 months and 1 day wandering about how much time i will actually serve and also about halfway house
Our sentences are the same and we get 54 days for good behavior and around 30 days in a half-way house. Do you know where you are going yet? I am not sure yet. I am hoping Carswell. PM me if you have any questions.

TxRhino 05-10-2005, 12:57 PM Thanks for sharing.
KEEP THE FAITH.
JHitt 06-21-2006, 01:59 PM I am trying to view the pics of Bryan but it says I don't have permission to access the page when I click on the attachment. Why???
SusanT 06-21-2006, 05:41 PM Jhitt, if you go to some of the previous pages in this thread you can click on the thumbnails. Only the exterior is available. I can probably answer any specific questions you have about the facility.
techie 06-27-2006, 08:51 PM Hi,
I have tried to open the pictures and I get a note that says access denied. I have posted more than 25 times and don't understand. Can you help me with this?
SusanT 06-27-2006, 10:14 PM I hope this glitch can be fixed for you soon. I'll PM TxRhino now.
I was enroute to Beaumont today and drove around the compound. I drove around the prison before I self-surrendered in 2001, but hadn't been back since 2002.
I couldn't see any changes except a small greenhouse that had been added.
toneal 07-31-2006, 02:06 PM I have a friend who will surrender to camp on Sept 18. We would like to see the pictures but I dont have clearance to view them. How do I get to view the pictures??
SusanT 08-14-2006, 10:00 AM The pics are on page one of this thread. They are not new so for instance, the photo of an inmate smoking was before they banned smoking for inmates. Most of what you will see are the front where the administrative offices are located. The dormitories are located near the center of the compound and most areas near the fence are out of bounds for inmates.
scrappydz 08-14-2006, 09:16 PM If you go to www.googleearth.com (http://www.googleearth.com) you can see some very good aireal shots of some of the prisons. You can see some good ones of Bryan FPC...and best of all you can see it for free!!!!!
CatherineP 08-25-2006, 08:38 PM Hi, everyone! I just returned from a 37-month "vacation" at Bryan. That place has changed so much!
rklafka 09-07-2006, 04:37 PM I am having problems seeing the pictures and I am not on AOL. I have someone very special that I have met that is currently there. We talk on the phone everyday for about 10minutes so we can make it the entire month. I have filled out the form to be put on her visiting list and waiting for approval. Wanted to see the pictures to know what to expect when I get there to see her. Thanks for your help.
laurieac1 09-07-2006, 05:19 PM I have been unsuccessful viewing the pictures. I was told to sent a note to FedEX (I believe that is his name) but I never got a response. I'm sorry I can't help you.
Luaire
SusanT 09-07-2006, 07:44 PM At www.bop.gov (http://www.bop.gov) you can find a photo by clicking on the Facility Locator. It only shows the front but that is about all a visitor is going to see. You will park, enter the visitation building and wait while your inmate is being called for her visit.
The pictures in the forum you've been unable to access do show the compound which can be seen through the fence while driving around the block. Unlike most camps, Bryan does have a fence with concertina wire. The wire is on the outside to keep the neighborhood out. Make sure your doors are locked if you drive around the block.
rklafka 09-08-2006, 09:53 AM Is it in that bad of an area that you have to watch yourself?
SusanT 09-08-2006, 10:32 AM Bryan/College Station is a nice college town but the area right around the prison is a bad neighborhood. There is no place to park outside the prison so don't get there too early.
scrappydz 09-08-2006, 03:06 PM Go to googleearth.com and download the free version and you can view the whole compound
siralanx 09-16-2006, 10:56 AM How do I gain access?
Fed-X 09-22-2006, 09:42 PM Here is a satellite photo from Google Maps / Earth. Click on the link and you can see the "campus"..
To see it, Click Here (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=Bryan+Texas&ie=UTF8&t=k&om=1&z=17&ll=30.678742,-96.361824&spn=0.005232,0.012102&iwloc=A)
Pretty easy to spot with their red/orange roofs..
I'm going back and adding this link to the first post.
lindad 09-25-2006, 04:24 PM what is the secret?
Lynn Reed 10-07-2006, 07:06 PM Do you know anybody who has recently spent time at this facility? I could be going as soon around Thanksgiving.
Thanks
SusanT 10-07-2006, 09:24 PM We have several members that are recently home from Bryan and I'm sure you'll hear from them soon to answer your questions. I'm corresponding with three PTO members there and spent 15 months there myself a few years ago.
curlygirl77070 11-04-2006, 04:15 PM hey what is it like there?
SusanT 11-04-2006, 08:11 PM There are several threads in here about what it is like. Just research "Bryan" and you should learn lots. Then ask specific questions.
Thank you for the pictures.
dawn michelle 01-06-2008, 06:27 PM my mom just left and i don't know how to get started
missmysissy 01-10-2008, 02:48 AM my sister has been at FPC Bryan for about 1 1/2 year...and she is the LAST person on earth that I would have thought could handle this situation as well as she has - so it can't be ALL that bad!!! (she is/was a pretty spoiled brat prissy girl) She is in RDAP - so I am guessing it is different than general population - but all-in-all it seems to be ok...I myself spent 3 years in TDCJ - & the feds seem like a party compared to that!!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
mhender1st 01-19-2008, 04:50 PM At Bryan, RDAP is just like general population. It's just a different housing unit and they have to attend their drug classes and have a stricter program they have to follow. BUt they work in the same job along side the rest of the women, ect.
tboyes 01-29-2008, 10:17 PM Dear Fed Ex,
My aunt recently arrived at Bryan. I really wanted to view the photos you posted but when I click on the attachments it says that my account does not have the privileges to view the photos. Is there any way I can view the pictures or a reason why this is occuring? Thanks for the help!
judimaipie 01-29-2008, 10:30 PM Did your Mom go to Bryan prison camp?...If so, it's not a bad place to be, if you have to be incarcerated.
j chalet 01-29-2008, 10:57 PM Does anyone have family at Bryan in RDAP? Is it hard? How long did they wait to get into the program?
specialk01 03-16-2008, 11:54 PM i'm hoping to go to bryan i don't know. i was sentence on 2/29/08 for 27 months. i am not sure about the rdap some say you have to interview with a case worker and apply when you get there. if you find out let me know as well i here it takes 1 year off your sentence
specialk01 03-16-2008, 11:57 PM is it hard to get in. do you have to have the judge request rdap or when you do and be interview can you ask about the program.
specialk01 03-16-2008, 11:58 PM how did your mom say she liked it at bryan? i am hoping to got there?
toddslady 03-19-2008, 10:47 AM I just looked at all the pics. Boy, did that bring back memories. I did a year at the camp, and then six months at boot camp from May 2003 to November 2004. I have to say I like it much better from this side of the fence. For anyone who is anticipating going to Bryan, it's not a bad spot if you have to be in prison. At least when I was there. It's been a while, so I'm sure it's changed, but hopefully not in a bad way. Good luck.
LH522 05-13-2008, 11:52 AM I was in the gen pop and then ICC/Boot Camp from July 00 to Feb 01. A-31 It still gives me chills to see the pictures again. Every once in a while I think about that place and the women I met there. I have to come back to PTO and read posts from other people who have been or are going there. It is therapy for me and it's a strange feeling. I also wish that I would have stayed in touch with a few of the girls.
