Raymond and I set our marriage for March 7, 2004. If all goes as planned. I was just wondering if a prison marriage is just as legal and binding as a marriage on the outside? I am excited about it anyway. I love my baby with all my heart. He is supposed to go talk to the chaplin tomorrow to set it all up.:)

Yes a marriage that takes place inside of a prison is as legal as if you were married in a church or at a courthouse etc.

CONGRATULATIONS on your up comming marriage.

Yep, from what I know, a prison marriage is the same as any other one.

All my very best wishes of happiness to you both.

Congrats :)

Just wanted to let everyone know that Raymond put his request in for our marriage two weeks ago. Then he went to see the phychiatrist for his counselling session. He told him he was good to go! Now I am waiting to get my seesion done on Jan 26, 2004. As soon as I get my paper proving that I had my session done then I send the copy to the chaplin there at the prison. And because I got my counseling it will only cost me 5.00 dollars for the marriage license, but I don't know how much the blood tests will be for both of us. I have to make sure that he has enough money on his books to cover the blood test, transportation to the courthouse to sign the marriage license. Also after the chaplin gets the counseling paper he will be sending me a form to sign stating that I know what Raymond is sentenced and what his charges are. And how long he has to do. Our wedding date is still March 7, 2004. Anxiously waiting! :)

Our wedding day was moved up one day from March 7 to March 6, 2004. And the warden at James Crabtree Correctional Center changed the rule where none of my fiance's cell mates can attend the ceremony, but I can up to 5 guests from my family. It was disappointing because Raymonds cellmate was going to be our best man. So now we have use a stranger to his best man. But at least we still get married before they change the rules again where no one can get married in prison. But I can buy a 3 1/2 floppy disk for the digital camera for our wedding day and I can bring a little bridal boquet. I would like to put our wedding picture on the site but someone would have to do it for me because I cant do it from the public computer. Can someone help me do it when I get them? Excited! :)
