I am looking to visit my good friend in the SHU and my jeep went on the fritz so, I have no transportation. Just wondering if anyone is planning a trip out there anytime soon?

Lucid I really don't think I'm going to be able to visit at all this year [[big sigh]] BUT if my Mum and Dad can pay for the flight for say an early brithday present I will let you know ASAP when I'm going

I am really thinking about making another trip up there around April or May.You know I'd love to go together esp now since we are visiting the same place! I know it is a ways away yet and I am not 100 % positive I am going but it is a real good possibility

If anyone is going up to Pelican Bay and is visiting someone in the S.H.U
You may qualify for an extended visit.
If you have not visited within the last 30 days and are traveling more than 250 miles.
Write a letter to the Warden and ask for an extended visit.
This way your loved one gets a morning and an afternoon visit.
Gee! how I wish I could get those.
But, since they say I come up to see my husband too much I don't qualify.
It means so much to the guys when they get those extended visits.
The prison won't tell you about them you have to ask about them they are in the Title 15.

Also,
Some of the hotels up there offer discounts to Prison Visitors.
You have to ask around for the best rate.
It can get expensive doing the trip alone.
