My guy has 6 months remaining yet still hasn't got work release yet. There are some there who have been waiting like three months on the list.Yet he says some get it right away .Is there some way to speed up the process or anyone who can give us some advice?I have already read the stuff they put on the F.D.O.C. site.Is there some one to contact? Thanks for your help

Unfortunately you just have to wait it out. My boyfriend was on the list for 5 weeks before they moved him. It also depends on where he's going and how much bed space there is.

Don't worry, it'll happen. We have 6 1/2 months of work release left. He's been there 1 month (at work release) and they still haven't let him go to work. It gets pretty aggravating.

It does get aggravating!!!!I also heard that they get a choice of three places. Is that true or do they just send them where ever they want? Thanks

No, they give them a list to choose from and then they get 3 places to choose. It's not as easy as we'd like it to be. Don't worry, it gets a little easier once they get to Work Release.

My boyfriend was supposed to go to work release in September last year...he didn't get there until the beginning of December...and had to go back through CFRC for two months before that...it all depends on where he wants to go & if the beds are open...but watch out 'cause they "lose them in the system"...just keep making phone calls...

Just drive them crazy...think of how crazy you can get trying to find out what's going on...I took a camera in to Appalachicola & they even saw it and we took a picture, yes, inside! I mailed it to my boyfriend & he had it up in the room where he was in charge of laundry, long story short, a seargent saw it, he went to the hole for a week, and then got transfered and I had no idea what happened till one of his friends called me...then it was dropped & he was sent to CRFC on his way to work release...when I went to Orlando to see him...they really didn't have him on the list...took like 45 minutes to find him...cause he wasn't a permanent there & man...what a mess...Call as much as you need!

He was so impatient getting to work release...and it seemed like his file was just sitting in Tallahassee, where you need to call...If I didn't call, I don't think they would have pursued the transfer. Also, you're basically dealing with administration to the best of my knowledge & not with the prison staff where he is...because the sooner he gets to work release, which I am asuming is closer to where you are, he'll be able to look for a job so that the transition to society is easier...
