Can anyone tell me how regular visits work in OSP? My friend can get 4 hours per week. Even though I would be coming 5000 miles to see him, is it right that on a regular visit I could only see him on one day for anything between 1-4 hours, depending on how busy it is and that I could not spread the days out, like visit 1 hour on Wed, 1 on Thurs and 2 on the Friday? Any information helpful as his unit/case manager refuse to help at all.

yes you can spread the visit hours out over the days. As long as it isnt more than 4 hours a week. But you should be able to set up a special visit coming that far have you tried calling the visitation people or the warden, I have always gotten better response from them than the case managers.

lil....thats a very long way to travel...you can and should get special visitation. My man put in a request himself for a special visit for me and got it.
He is at Ft Supply Ok. Tell you man to get the request filled out :)

Yeah, I know it should be simple like everyone says - he should just be able to put in a request for special visit and that should be it! Unfortunately his unit manager hates him and he just throws any requests away and ignores calls, emails etc...... I now have his attorney working on it....it is crazy that I have to go through an attorney to try to get anywhere, but with the unit manager he has, nothing is easy!
