I was just wondering if anyone knew if the Lancaster prison in L.A. has contact visits? My man is currently in Delano and I know they don't have contact visits there. But he is going to be sent to Lancaster soon. So I was just wondering if anyone knew. Thank you. ~Zoe Roe~

Yes Lancaster does have contact and family visits (conjugals) for those who "qualify." Let me know if you need more from me, cause I live here in Lancaster about 5 min.s from the prison. I will be happy to help if you need me and I can. Sorry to not give more details but I found out this afternoon that my marriage is approved and I will be walking down the isle / visiting room floor in 2 weeks.

We will talk more later ... let me know when he gets to LAC.

Thank you so much Tamara. I have been truly amazed by all the warmhearted people on this form. And you showing the perfect display of that. Congratulations on your marriage! I so happy for you. I can only dream that someday Robert and I can do the same. Once again thank you so much for your response and generosity.

My Fiance is at Lancaster. I go down twice a month to see him. It is about a 5 hour drive from Capitola (near Santa Cruz). He has an Aunt and Uncle there that I sometimes stay with. Other times I stay at a Motel. He is on "C" yard. Mrs. H what yard is your husband on? We are getting married soon. Any pointers or info on how to do it at Lancaster? I will be leaving Capitola at midnight this Friday and drive straight to the prison. Take care, Kathy

Hello,

My ex-husband is housed at Lancaster Prison as well. So if you require assistance of any kind let me know. I also know most of the Community Resource Managers on-site at each of the SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA prisons. To answer your question yes they do have contact visits between inmates and LEGALLY married persons. CDC does not recognize common law marriages. The state of California doesn't recognize proxy marriages. Marriage is not a real big issue in California prisons. Depending on the circumstances. Let me know how everything turns out.

Thanks,
AK
