I am new to PTO and the whole web thing, but have found this site very interesting and helpful.

I was wondering if any one has any experience or know of anyone in California that was given a date on their first time up for parole?

My husband will be having his first parole hearing in 2006, and I am just courious if there is any truth that the first time an imate goes up they are always denied.

He is serving a 25-life sentence and will be 32 when he goes up(yes he was quite young when this happened). He has been programing for many years now with great recomendations from his bosses and programs he has particapted in.

We are very hopeful that he will come home one day, and now with Gov. Swartzenager in office we have become a little more hopeful that there might be a chance his first time up.

I don't know about California, but Kendall had his first parole hearing in Sept.03 , first time up after serving 14 years on a life sentence and was denied. They gave him a date of 9/2006 for his next parole hearing, but I am going to start writing letters to the parole board after we are married and see if we can get an earlier date.
