My friend can't get out of jail because he doesn't have an address to parole out to. Does anyone know of any halfway houses in Houston, TX he can parole out to?

There are many in the Houston area - also what they call "three quarter" houses. I am only familiar with the Cheyenne Center. I don't know what the cost is now but the 3/4 house was $75.00 a week. But I'm sure someone will have more info!

Good luck!

I'm not familiar with half-way houses or cost relating to them. Here are two links. The first link is TDCJ's list with of half-way houses and addresses. The second link is where PTO members discuss half-way houses. Hope this helps and God bless as always.

I was at the Reid Facility, over on Old Beaumont Highway (Hwy. 90) in far east Houston, maybe even outside the city limits, can't remember. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone, though.

How long would your friend have to serve before discharge?

The only one I know of is the one in Midland/Odessa, when my boyfriend was in state jail the last time he was sent to the halfway house there, he really liked it.

If one cannot find a place to parole to the state has a handful of places they send us to. These are referred to as state approved 1/2 half way houses and Ben Reid facility is one of them. Your loved will get out whether he/she has a place to go to or not. Once someone receives an FI of some sort to go home then, they will go home where ever home may be for the time being in the early going.
How are these places, overall? It doesn't matter and it won't change anything in speaking good or bad of any halfway house. The bottom line is you're free, it's a new beginning and you'll more than likely leVe that halfway in a much shorter time than it took to enter and leave prison. So......don't worry. Be happy

Why can he not come to your residence? You are family, which means he is eligible to seek to have supervision transferred under Compact. Persons are released to out-of-state plans on a regular basis, it just takes a little longer to process after a Board vote.
