I am so frustrated. My boyfriend is in Anamosa State Penitentiary. I write him a letter everyday so he gets one Mon-Fri. They give him all of his mail from me, thank goodness. Since about July, they've been holding his mail that he writes to me. It really sucks. I don't know why they are doing that. If was writing anything that he shouldn't, they'd already have him in lockup. It's BS!! I've called up there and everyone I've talked to say that his mail has gone out. It's a lie. I would've gotten it by now. There's about 8 letters I haven't gotten from him. I'm not sure where to go now. He said that he's not the only that has mail problems. I guess some of the guys are going in together to do a civil law suit against the prison, but why does it have to be this way? I guess I'm just wondering if anyone else out there is having any problems getting their mail from their man? Please tell me where else I can go w/ this. I'm really frustrated. I just want to cuss them out, but he'd have to suffer the repercussions of my actions, which isn't right. What should I do?

this really sucks! i wish i had something more to give than just my ear and a virtual hug!

is all of his mail being withheld, or just his letters to you? if you don't know b/c he doesn't write anyone else, i suggest having him write someone else to find out. if others go out, i'd get a p.o. box and have him write to you using a different name...in fact, there might be someone around the iowa forum who could further help you develop this idea (are you there heather? lol.)

hum that really sounds messed up only time I've had problams getting mail is around holidays. It's funny the mail I get from Fort Madison gets to me faster than the mail from Clarinda and Clarinda is closer. I can't wait only 2 more days tell John reconsideration hearing. Im praying so hard that it's good news. Everyone have a good day.

No problems here, I get my mail just fine, I find that Ricky sometimes gets his a few days later than he should, but so far (Knock on wood) he has gotten everything I sent. And as far as I know I have received everything he sent and pretty fast too.
I wonder why myself, is he writing alot of mushy stuff?? Maybe they like what he writes and read every word of it, who knows, hope you get your missing letters soon, I know how every letter is so important to us. Keep us posted.

And Tami- Make sure you keep us posted on John's hearing, I hope ya get good news, my fingers will be crossed.

Thanks guys. I didn't have any troubles getting his mail until this July. Now it's like they want to mess w/ us. It sucks. Everyone else he writes, his mom, and grandma, and stuff they get his letters but I don't. It's really pissing me off. Sorry, guys, I'm just upset about it. They'd know it was me if I got a PO BOX b/c I'm the only one that goes and visits him. I couldn't stop writing the mushy stuff so they'd still know it's me. Of course he writes me lovey dovey stuff. He better or I'd kick his butt personally. I don't know what else I can do. I want my mail. I think I'll call up and cuss his counselor out. I was "nice" the first time, but now I've had enough. I'll figure something out. If you guys find something else out, let me know pleassssssssssssssssssssse.


By the way I just got home from visiting him and we had the most wonderful visit, but I had to hold back the tears. He said to tell everyone hi.
