Hey everybody-
My husband qualifies for the residental drug program (RDAP). I have read that this program can knock UP TO 12 months off the sentence plus, in addition to the 12 months, he'll get out about 6 months earlier to be sent to a half way house. Now, my questions is, they say UP TO 12 months. Have your loved ones completed the program and did they get the full 12 months off or less? Did they also get out 6 months earlier and sent to a halfway house? I just wanted to hear about real life experiences rather than what the bureau of prisons says!
Thanks

He can get 'up to' a 12 month reduction for successfully completing the federal RDAP program. However, most average between an 8 - 10 month reduction. The 6 month halfway house would be in addition to the reduction, keeping in mind that going to a halfway house is not a release from prison, but a transfer to a less secure enviroment.

I've never heard of anyone getting the full 12 months. There has been some discussion on the RDAP program down in the federal forum. you might want to check it out.
