Yesterday after work I was going thru my mail.. All I wanted was a letter.. Then when I seen his handwriting I was so happy made my whole christmas.. Since we can't see one another at least let me get a letter.. Well I got 2 letters..:) I was way happy.. So I open the first one and read it.. Then the second and low and behold he sent me a hanky all decorated up and it was beautiful... I was like Damn the mail man knew I needed that letter that day... I was so happy and my baby even from behind the walls of prison gave me a christmas surprise....:)

Thanks for the support sometimes people do not understand the importance or impact of your loved one doing something that makes your whole day....

I know my husband was feeling very guilty about not being able to give me a gift - then on Tues, on my doorstep sat some tulips (my fav flower) freezing in the cold). A note attached was from Kevin!!! How did he do that??

Our pastor received money from Kevins acct and he asked our pastor (who visits Kevin weekly) to get me as many tulips that the money could by. Now I know how much tulips cost in the dead of winter - so I know our pastor must have added a few $, but I was overwhelmed -it was soooo sweet.

Our husbands and boyfriends would give us the world if they could right now, and I know that they feel so horrible during this season that they not only can't be there with us, but also can't reciprocate gifts. There's nothing we can say to make them not feel that guilt, at least there's not for Kevin. So if they can draw a picture, decorate a hanky, write a poem or a beautiful love letter - that's their gift.

Happy Holidays everyone.

Matt sent me my gift a couple of weeks ago and I opened it while talking to him on the phone for the first time ever. We call it "Hockey's Heart" - it's a leatherwork heart he designed and one of his friends made and is wrought with meaning for both of us. It may not be monetarily valuable - but to me it was the most beautiful gift I have ever received. And you had better believe I bawled like a freaking baby :D

He was feeling bad this morning because I had nothing else to open today. But I just told him that every day he does his time peacefully and with happiness in his heart because of me was his gift to me. Allowing ourselves to love each other was the greatest gift we could give or receive. There's plenty of time for other things that mean so much less.

I am glad that you got that hanky!! And the others whose guys are doing whatever they can, it is great.
Yes, mine made sure I had 8 cards/special letters under the tree and he also sent me a book, we love reading, and I asked him for a pillowcase that he had been sleeping on, since he had a couple that I gave him as gift last year, he was able to fill that request and it was under the tree this morning. Last year among my gifts was a hanky he had drawn a baby sylvester on and had him wishing me a merry Christmas.....I have had that on the fridge all year. Today's gifts also included a poem he created.
We had a phone call and didn't count the minutes of it and we will talk again before we go to bed tonight..smiles he doesn't think it is a lot but it is the stuff love is made of, it is the glue that holds us together and will keep us growing strong til he comes home.

It is so nice when the little things can be done even if they can't just to get a letter is a gift in itself... Know what I mean...

OJ uses them mail order catalogs.. this year I got a basket with some bath oils and another adorable teddy bear. (I have dozens of stuffed animals) that he's sent throughout the years. I hate that he uses the little money he has to send me gifts though. But I love him for thinking about me.. I may be the only 45 year old woman with more stuffed animals than her grandbaby LOL

that is funny.. In texas they can't do that.. Hell they work for free and are required to have a job inorder to get good time.
