What day of the week can you visit someone on death row?

It's for TX D/R visitation, right? (I assume, since it says you are in TX...) If so, D/R visitation is every day except for Sunday. Here are the hours at TX D/R:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Wednesday-ONLY 8:00 AM-12:00 noon
Saturday-1st session 5:00-7:00 PM-2nd session 8:00-10:00 PM (Saturdays is evening visitation)
**Saturday D/R visitation is by appointment only**

Hope that helps! Good luck.

FLorida is weekend visits only. Its contact from 9am - 3pm. If you are coming from out of town, you can organise a special 3 day visititation by approval, and get rather a Friday or a Monday.

In California, at SQ, you make an appointment one week ahead of time and you get 2 hours which is often extendable to 4 hours. Saturday and Sunday for now with the new visiting regulations in California. 8am-2pm, i believe. Sometimes it's behind class and sometimes you're locked in a cage with your friend/family member. Just depends on the guys. The guards are polite, treat everyone with respect, but the food is disgusting (only machine food). Bad thing is they will not let you leave the cage to go to the bathroom for the first 2 hours. If you have to go, that ends the visit.

californias san quentin also has visitation on thursdays and fridays.
thursdays are at 7:30. 9:45 and 12 noon
fridays are 7:30 and 10:45 am.
its a little harder to get a visit on thursday and fridays because there are fewer time slots open during the week for visits, vs. the weekends.

In Florida, as Kyla put it, it's contact on weekends from 9AM-3PM.

However, it depends on which prison you visit...

At UCI (Union) the hours are from 9AM-3PM and registration starts at 8:15....the inmates there have a scheduled visiting day, unless there was prior approval for special visits (2 day, etc).

At FSP (Florida State Prison), hours are the same, visitors don't have to have a scheduled visiting day (you can go Saturday or Sunday). That's where I visited this past weekend. Sometimes, it's non-contact (depends on classification) but most of the time it's contact if the DR inmate doesn't have DRs and all that lovely papertrail...

If you have a long distance visit as I had :-) then you get all these hours!
14 hours!!!
We had a cute visitation officer, she gave us two weekends = 28 hours.
It was awesome!
But now you can just get one weekend. I don't know why we got that. I don't know anyone else who had that. but it was a nice thing. So we really could get to know each other.

No!!!!!!!!!!!! Poetery tell me its not true.
I have been spending the last year saving for my trip to Arizona. I was planning on 2 weeks so I could have those 2 long weekends of visitation. I didnt realise they'd stopped allowing 2 consecutive weekends for those of us coming long distance. If so, on the good side I guess I can stop saving now and maybe bring the trip forward :) Did you manage to find anywhere reasonable to stay? The only motel near is quite expensive so if you could recommend another place I'd be grateful. I cant believe it - just my luck!! But I hope you had a great time.

Tips on saving on motel expenses...

Bring a friend and make a mini vacation... both of Ya'll can split the cost of the hotel room.... and you can make your visit....

They have changed visitation rules at UCI. There are no longer visits on Friday or Monday. So now you can get a special visit either Saturday or Sunday. Depends on wich day the inmate`s regularly visiting day is. I guess that also means there are no longer 3 day visititation. They say it is because they don`t have enough staff for Friday and Monday visits.
