Hello all,
my husband is awaiting movement to a Federal Facility where he has been sentenced to 7 years. Is there anyone out there can give me a little info so I could let my husband know what to expect the first couple of weeks? Visitation, phone calls, correspondence, commissary? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Oh yeah, what are the chances of him being placed in a facility that is near his past residence?

Please take a look in the "Road to Prison" forum. There is A LOT of info on what to expect in regards to Federal Prison. Going in, coming out and a lot more.

You might want to use the Site's search engine to unearth quite a bit of specific information.
For example, you could type in "federal prison self surrender" or other things and it will give you a list of the threads relating to that. Give it a try! :)

I KNOW THE FEDERAL PRISONS I HAVE DEALT WITH THE INMATE HAS TO SEND YOU A REQUEST FOR VISITATION SHEET THAT YOU HAVE TO FILL OUT AND SEND BACK.THEN YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR AT LEAST A WEEK BEFORE KNOWING IF YOU ARE APPROVED.THEN YOU HAVE TO FIND OUT THEIR VISITATION SCHEDULE.SORRY I COULDNT BE MORE HELP BUT MAYBE IT HELPED SOME.OH AND WELCOME TO PTO
