Hello...

After 2 1/2 years (long story...) I have FINALLY been approved on my best friend's visit list. He is at IMSI and I have some questions about visiting there.

First off, where the heck is the prison? I've searched all over the DOC website and can't find a physical address for them to find them on mapquest.

I'll be coming from Portland, OR. Is there ANY chance of them approving me to come for a longer visit. Don't get me wrong, I'll be grateful for the two hours, but I have a 7 hour drive... and that's a LONG haul for "only" two hours of visiting.

Are there any cheapy hotels near the prison?

Does it get very crowded and is there a chance of being turned away if it's too full? I would NOT be happy after driving all that way to be turned away because there was no room.

Any insight any of you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

First of all I will address the location of the prison. The prison is very easy to get to. It will be easier if I know how much detail you need. Is what I'm saying is have you ever been to Boise? I will get you detailed directions to the prison. When are you planning on being here? Again dont worry about finding the prison, it's real easy.

My fiancee is at the private prison across the street from ICC so the visiting room and hours are a little differant. I know that where my guy is they try and make sure the out of towners get the full visiting time. I will call the prison and check on that for you if you would like.

As far as a cheap motel it all depends on what kind of price you are talking about. If you have an idea in mind I can check that as well.

my fiance is at imsi and as far as crowded it depends on what block he is on. there are some okay priced hotels near the airport, and it easy to get to the prison from there. I don't know if they will allow a longer visit, but if the room is full the visitors that are driving over 250 miles are the first to go in, so you will be one of the ones that probalbly will get to visit, the visitors that live closer will get a pass that lets them visit
on a visit day within 30 days.
