Dear PTO Members,

First, I would like to wish all of you Happy Holidays. I know they are never going to be all they can be without your loved ones at home with you, but please know your PTO family cares and wishes you the very best this Holiday Season.

Now, moving on to a subject that has been monopolizing quite a bit of my time lately – PTO v2x!!! It is almost here!!!! Finally, what many of us have been waiting a long time for, and what many more have heard so much about is very close at hand! NO Expense has been spared in what may actually be the most advanced online community (feature wise) currently (about to be) available! I brought aboard a number of people to help make this possible and the culmination of everyone’s efforts is about to be unveiled.

If all goes as planned, Prison Talk Online version 2 will be “turned on” sometime on December 31st! Yes, New Years Eve (day).. A transfer of this proportion may mean taking PTO offline for up to a few hours, though we will try hard to keep it to a few minutes! It just depends how the transfer of all the posts, member’s data, changing of directories and other critical things transpire. We have already tested this on the version that is being tested behind the scenes and it went smoothly. You will not have to do anything different, though I invite all of you that currently go to the forums via the link: www.prisontalk.com/forums to just use www.PrisonTalk.com so you will be able to see our new Home Portal Page. You can then go to any other place on the site from there! :)

Everyone’s account information will remain the same though much of the look and feel of the site will be different. Expect to do some exploring, but we have tried to make navigating the site easier than it has been in the past. Prior to the actual launch, I am going to send out another Mass Email to everyone explaining many of the new features and how to use them, so feel confidant that we’re not just going to throw the switch and cut you loose without any information to fall back on. Most will be completely self explanatory, but some may require a bit of getting used to.

New Categories on PTO!
Part of the “upgrade” will include the re-categorization of many of the forums! PLEASE BE AWARE that where you found your favorite forums may not be where they are after we move things around.. I apologize for the (hopefully temporary) disorientation you may experience but I think these changes are going to be for the best in the long run, and enable members and guests to find what they are looking for with more ease. In addition to the change in location, there may be some forums that will be completely removed, while there are a few more that are added.
*NOTE* This will start taking place soon after I send out this email, so expect it right away.

Again, I WILL BE sending out a detailed email just prior to the launch of the new community!

Lastly, I would like to extend a very special THANK YOU to everyone who has sent in the financial contributions that has made this upgrade possible! I apologize that I have not been back in touch with each of you personally but I will get there. :) There is NO WAY I could have covered this expense alone and it is because of you that we will have PTO v2. I think everyone will agree in time that it was well worth it. ;)

Best Wishes & Happy Holidays to all,
David (Fed-X)
