My son was finally transferred from Peninsula Regional Jail to Indian Creek in Chesapeake. If anyone has any info, please share. We get to go visit Christmas Day. I'm so excited, we've been visiting thru glass for a year and a half. I can't wait to give him a big hug and kiss. The night he went out and got into trouble, he tried to give me a hug and kiss before he left the house. I shugged him away because I was mad at him for going out so late. God do I wish I had accepted that hug and kiss.

I have a friend at work whose husband was there till last spring. I will find out what I can and post tonight. If she is at work that is, I did not see her yesterday, so she may be off for the holiday.

NarleyMarley,

I talked to my coworker today. Her hubby has been out longer than I remembered.

Anyway, she said like most prisons they have their oddities for visitation.

If you haven't already I would call ahead first and make sure you are on the visitation list. Linda got caught like that once, she did not call first and she was not on the visitation list yet.

If your not on the list you can't see him.

Now she said that the co's will not allow you to wear a watch in the visitation rooms. There are two visitation areas, one is the gym. Hope you get the gym it is quieter.

Take change with you for the snack machines. But it must be carried in a small see through bag. If the bag is too big the co's may not allow you to bring it in.

Do not wear short skirts, or button down the front skirts, see through or lowcut blouse.

Take your Drivers license for id.

She also said you will be allowed to hug and kiss at the end of the visit, and that is pretty much it.

She was going to give me more detail, but then we had a bit of an emergency at work and we could not get back together.

Hope this helps.

Merry Christmas and have a good visit.

Patti

PS: Will you be ok on directions to get there, once in Hampton Roads?

Dear Patti,
Thanks for taking the time to find out about Indian Creek. We also live in Tidewater. I have directions and don't think we'll have any trouble finding it. Here it is Christmas Eve and up baking banana bread. I'm so wired I can't sleep. My son called a little while ago, I think he's just as excited as we are about visiting tomorrow. I've got my change and the alarm set to be there by 7:30. Thanks again. Hope you have a Merry Christmas.
