Not happy with Judge Ruling? Get a life, there is a lot of unhappy people in the world! WSPF should have not been built in the first place. (AKA WSPF) Supermax! Superwaste!
This is in response to Ken Leifheit’s editorial in the Boscobel Dial Newspaper 12-12-03.
Dear Editor:
Mr. Leifheit’s feelings as he stated in the article, were petty and had expressed an uneducated view when dealing with the humanity issues of the citizens caged like animals for years in a 6x12 cement cell. If he is so worried about WI tax dollars he should focus on our Government wasteful over spending that took away from the poor farmers! Rather then distressing him self about air conditioning issues within the prison walls at WSPF he should turn his head and ask the question why was this multi multi million-dollar prison built? Yes we know WSPF was built for a certain type of people, but that is not who is there! Non-violent offenders should not be there! This is the problem. Not every inmate at WSPF warrants a place like that! And at the tune of $57,000.00 per inmate per year this is repulsive to say the least. And yes many of these men did go to Sunday school and whom do you think they still are praying to now? If you want to get at the bottom of the WSPF issue, I would ask Ken and everyone to educate yourself on why did WI waste so much of WI taxpayer’s money on a supermax prison in WI when we don’t have that many offenders that warrant a place like that. Therefore when they send inmates there that don’t fit the criteria for that place something is wrong AND PEOPLE WILL BE UPSET. Most of these men are not the worst of the worst did you ever think of that? I bet not! Everyone makes mistakes in life and yes they were sent to prison as punishment not to get punished! So relate your feelings as you may, but remember they are only you’re feelings Ken! Many of us that are closer to the situation feel differently because we are educated and aware of the unjustifiable inhumane place this WSPF actually is.
Also before you go and try to disgrace Ms. Crabb’s ruling I think you had better get a clue as to what this is all about. Please allow me to relate my feelings Ken, I think that you are a little bit of a unforgiving inhumane lost soul if you think that it is allowable to expose human beings to the torturous summer heat waves while they are locked in their cells for 23-24 hours a day for years on end. If it is a waste of WI taxpayers money to air condition WSPF you’re worried about you should of thought about that when they wasted our WI tax money to build such an inhumane place in our beloved WI. The WSPF systems is not working and I’d say get another job if nessary, WSPF will continue to drain the pockets of every WI working family. It’s the system that WSPF employs that isn’t working. We still live in a humane country therefore we must act as if we are humane Ken! But keep in mind we WI taxpayers have a voice to close that WI multi million-dollar tax sucking cement tomb (WSPF) for good, if we choose to come together and voice our opinions on the wasteful repulsive DOC spending with WSPF! Club med? Your uneducated guessing is quite humorous. Where do you see a club med within WSPF? Unless the warden and his staffing have one within the walls for playtime, if true it’s probably air conditioned as well! By the way the inmates said that they wanted fans to keep cool but DOC said no! Here we go multi again!
