We were told by our lawyer that if my husband gets 2+ (this being his first time federal) that he might be able to get APR but that he would likely spend the entire 6 months in the assessment unit and not be classified or sent out anywhere else.

If that is the case would that mean no open visits, we can't send him personal stuff etc?

Does anyone know?

Before he can get APR he will need to be assessed... during that 60 day period is when that happens and they also classify his risk level... to my knoweldge he will be sent to a mother institution before he will be released... if he's eligable for APR he will most likely end up at a camp/ minimum but also depending on his assessment and his classification level... Once he is at his mother institution you have 30 days to send in a list of items (they will give him a list of authorized items allowed to come in) you can send the items in. Your visits will be closed... which is hard... but if he ends up being placed in a camp visits are open and you can kiss... touch... hold hands... minimums have open visits as well... just not as much freedom...

hopefully this answered some of your questions... if I'm off at all... I'm sure someone will be able to correct it... if you have any other questions feel free to PM me or reply back on here...

Hey don't ever take a lawyers advice about doing time.... If he gets 2 or more years he will goto Millhaven for anywhere from 45-95 days, in that time he will be assesed and placed in a prison that best suits him. Now keep in mind that his placement is decided according to his charges and criminal history. They will even use charges that he has beat in court against him. But no it is not likley that he will be in Millhavem for 6 months.

What is the approximate time, if you can kinda predict, on your experience ?? (My guy said up to 90 days, but I have heard of a lot more !!! We have read and heard of so many different times, that we really don't know what to expect. Can you enlighten us, as that would help us put our minds to rest.

We realize that different circumstances may be a factor, but we need to know, if at all possible.

We appreciate your help.

It would be very unusual for him not to be out of MAU within 60 days.
There is zero chance he'll be 90 days!!!, and he will be transferred to another institution once assessed.
