how often do you write your man? I write mine at least 3 times or more a week is that enough? He says everybody else gets letters everyday. I was just wondering about what the average is with you girls.

I write about the same as you do. I think I'd run out of things to say if I did it daily. But I also send jokes etc from time to time to him too.

Same here...about 3 times a week...plus, I send jokes...pictures...and little tests for him to do. He should be happy that you write him that much. There are some that write their man every day...but I don't have that much to talk about between work and school...

I actually only try to write about two times a week. He doesn't write all that often, so I don't either. I figure a couple of times a week is probably enough. In the past I've written to people every day but that's just too much.

Everyone else doesn't get letters every day, trust me. Not unless they've got a good penpal ad going or something. That's like a little kid saying "everyone else" does or gets such and such. LOL A couple of letters a week is probably actually a lot more than most guys get, realistically.

I write my baby at least 3 times a week--I try for every other day at the least, and he writes me at least 3 times a week also, but lately I have gotten a card or letter from him pretty much every day. :) ~Smiles~ Plus, I do see him every week too.

I write Tommy at least once a day. He said the other guys are jealous. I also send cards and things. He loves the ones with my perfume on them. We also get a 2 hour visit once a week. He's only been in a little over 2 months, and he will be home in July. Maybe it's silly, but when he is home we talk alot and I still try to include him on what is going on in mine and the kids everyday life. He told me it keeps him feeling "connected" to all of us. He also writes to me everyday, but because of the screwy way they do commisary where he is, he can only mail a letter every other day or so.

I send a letter at least 2 times a week. Sometimes more, but I send it in journal form with an entry from almost everyday. It all depends if I got much to say.

He usually only writes once every week. He says it's hard for him to write cause he's always tired. He also has a lot to write like to friends, his mom, reporters, and lawyers. I don't mind as long as he calls 3 times a week. I also don't write as much, because he gets a lot of mail from different people. But he says my letters are priority to read. :)

I write everyday. Minimum, once a day, sometimes two or three, depends how I'm feeling. I also send cards, and fun things. I do believe he has received 156 in two months...(can't believe he counted) He said that others do get jealous. I call him "The Mail King" he thought that was cute!

I write just about everyday, send cards, pictures, magazines and books to keep him occupied. I get 2 -3 letters a week in return. He can call everyday except for right now Stateville is on lockdown (sigh)

I average 15-30 typed pages each day. It sounds like a lot, but feels easy and natural--we solve the cost of paper by him flipping my letters over, and answering back--so he writes just as much. And it also provides a way to save both our letters together.

I write nearly every day. Saturday and Sunday is just one letter over the two days. Other than that, I send a letter or a card every day. Tony sends me 4 letters a week and, for some reason, they usually all arrive on the same day! He'll often include a card he's made, too.

I envy those of you who can get phone calls, I never can so the letters mean so much more.

Boy you guys are great I only write once a week and he write once a week but they are long letters. I have a hard time trying to find someone new to say I feel like I keep on writing the same thing. Man to write everyday I would have to have some type of life!

I also write nearly everyday--I've writtem up to 3 times a day, but sometimes I hold onto one, in case life gets just too busy and I don't get a chance, like stockpiling. No 2 days have gone by without writing. Because of money issues he has rationed his own envelopes out at 3 a week, so I get mail regularly as well.

I write James at least everyday. There have been times when I have sent a couple of letters out in a day. And they are usaually always very long letters. I tell him about my day, things I've done before him, and always how much he means to me and how much I love him. We are trying to keep the phone bill down, and I only get to see hin once a month. He doesn't write everyday, but his letters are long and sweet and at least a few times a week.

I write Al at least three to four times a week and he does the same for me. We write to each other after visits, we throw in a letter or two in between, and we make sure the other has a letter on Saturday, you know, because there is no mail delivery on Sunday. We sometimes write everyday because we don't talk on the phone at all. And I must admit I feel so disappointed when I don't get a letter, not because I think he's not thinking of me. He let's me know that he misses me and is thinking of me in every letter. I just miss that connection with him... so I reach into my shoe box, full of his letters, and pick out a couple to read, just to hear his voice. It works!

Oh I forgot to mention sending the perfume on letters. I don't wear it so Al requests that I send him a little juice every now and then. Y'all know what that is!!!

I write atleast 3-5 letters a week. Plus extras.
I send something dailey, sometimes just a card, but always something dailey. And since no mail for him on Saturday, I always write a weekend long (Friday-Monday) letter.
Before all the phone calls started, I would write a letter dailey, plus send cards, but its hard when ya tell them everything on the phone, so letters are getting a little harder. I will always try to get something out dailey, even if its just a small note telling him I love him and miss him.
He is so spoiled! He sends letters as often as I do, so I guess Im spoiled too :D

I usually send him a card once a week or maybe more if he's goin thru some things. Right now we talk on the phone everyday since he hasn't been moved yet, but after he is moved I'm sure we will be writing alot more.

I write everyday and mail the letters 3 times a week. I send him pictures, cards and special things from my son, too. I have recently signed up for some magazine subscriptions for him too. Hopefully he will start getting them soon.

I write almost daily,I have written daily this month as I am doing something special and have in the past as well! he said you know I have like 5,000 pgs to answer right?!LOL I have no life!hahaha But I do write as if I am "talking" to him and very descriptive so he feels like he's here! I also send pics,stuff from our daughter,other stuff I find,sometimes I add perfume,sometimes I do it "shrimps"^^^^ way!*smirk*

I write everyday - not always long letters but just to let him know what we did, that we are safe and loving and missing him. I send him cards and pictures and letters from the kids. I try to send a large pkg once every 2 weeks with drawings, books, poems, cards. He also sends me a letter everyday. Yeah alot gets repeated, but it keeps him for worrying and that makes me feel better. We have gone on like that for about 15 months and I will continue to make my baby feel special through the mail, on the phone and at visits until he comes home.

I write to Jake 3 times a day everyday,but I am not working right now so I have the time. He writes about 4 times a week

I write almost daily. There's a day here and there that I don't get anything sent out. This mail running slow 'cuz of the holidays is slowing things down! They REALLY need to get the post offices back on track! We had the delivery down to a science! (I even have the mailman's route timed down to the minute! :D )

I usually write 5 times a week (M-F) and Saturdays if we aren't having a visit. When I visit, I skip saturdays. On weeks with holiday, I go to visit, so I would skip that day as well. But, he can expect a letter everyday...Getting mail makes him feel special and I just can't tell him everything in depth during our 15 minute conversations...

i write Jason every cupple days. It seems like i get more letters then i send which makes me feel like im not supporting him like i should be. But he knows i love him and hes happy that im there for him. The only other people that write him are his little sister and his parents. He keeps asking me to get his friends to wright him, and ive tryed but its an "Out of sight out of mind" kind of deal, which really piss's me off. I dont have heart to tell him they just wont wright him so he keeps asking me.... :(

When my guy was in prison, I wrote every day and sent tons of cards, magazines, jokes, etc. He also wrote every day. The last 6 months he was locked up, he could call every day so the letters slacked off a lot.

Every day - no matter what. I may write 2 days on one letter depending on what's going on but I always send something every day. If I'm behind I'll send a card to let him know what's up and why he's not getting a letter. He gets mail from me 4 days a week except during holidays. He also writes every day and so I usually get mail 5 days a week. Is the holiday season almost over yet?! I'm ready for my mail to be back on track :(

we write each other everyday.we normally write off and on all day and night then mail that one.while we start another one almost like a diary type thing.along with sending cards.

I only write when I get a letter from him but sitting here reading how much you ladies write I thought about somethings and I really do have alot to say...What am I waiting for you ask??? NOTHING...I'm gonna start writing tomorrow.

Well, we were writing each other every day, but I kind of stopped that and screwed up our correspondence when we had a huge fight; I didn't write him for like a week. Now that things are somewhat back to "normal" again, our writing is almost back up to daily. Things have been busier for me here lately though, so I haven't been writing as much I used to. Before, I would write 20 plus page letters and write even if I didn't get a letter from him. Now I just write the day of our visit and respond to whatever I get in the mail.

i write to my baby everyday but i don't always get the letters out to him on time. i usually end up sending a few letters at a time and i'm always sending him cards too...he writes to me all the time and i get letters from him just about every day. when i don't get a letter everyday from him i get really long letters, the last one was over 40 pages. i love it. his words are what keep me going and i can truly feel him here with me when i am reading and writing.

I write my baby about 2 times a week. Each letter is, on average, anywhere from 10-25 pages (typed)....Plus I go visit him 3 times a week, and I accept every phone call from him... (my phone bill has been anywhere from $300-$800 monthly!!)

at least 5 days a week, if i don't send him a full letter, I send him a card, just so he has something to let him know that I was thinking about him.

OK so maybe I over do it. LOL I write everyday even if its just I Love You. We talk everyday for at least an hr. (except for these past 2 days and I dont know whats up with that) and we get a 4 hr visit everyweek.

I try to write everyday but it gets so darn hard sometimes. I wasn't able to write him this past week because I had the stomach flu. Blah! But...yeah...usually about four letters a week. It just depends on my work and school schedule.

I tried writing him everyday, but I notice that didnt work ! I do have some what of a life lol-but I write him as he writes me , so on average if I get around 4 letters that week , I respond to them and mail all of them on a Monday, I have to send his mail certified, if not he wont get it for about a month!!

I write him everyday. But only send out 2-3 times a week. It gets hard at times to write. So I just treat my letters to him as if they were journal entries. Some nights I just cannot write and he understands. As long as we try our best that is all we can do. He writes everyday and sends out 3-4 times a week. I use to get a letter from him everyday, but since he started school it is went down and I am fine with that. I did feel bad at one time because I did not write as mich as he did. But I realized soon that he has more time on his hands that I . He understood that too. Now that he is busy 8 hours out of the day he definatly understands.

I usually write him every other day but i do write him alot everyday. I can't go without writing him,it's like i'm not doing something of the utmost importance.

I write my man a letter everyday. He gets a letter Mon-Fri and if he got mail on Sat and Sun he'd have one then too. I send him lots and lots of cards to. I can't help myself. We talk everyday, so you'd think I wouldn't have anything to say, but I talk mostly about my day and about my son and what he's been doing. Of course, I have to be mushy gushy too.
He doesn't write much b/c he doesn't like to write, never has, but I'm okay w/ that. We talk as i said before, so I'm really not being deprived.

I write about every other day. And he calls about 3 times a week. I think if I wrote anymore it would get boring for him because I would be repeating myself. I usually get something from him every other day. I also will send cards when I don't have the time to sit down and actually write. He understands that because he knows I have to continue to live my life out here. And I don't believe for one second everyone else is getting a letter everyday. My man said he knows lots of guys in that don't ever get letters. Not every man is lucky enough to have women like us! Not everyone can do what we do for our men. They are lucky to have us.

I get calls from him, which I think are so much more better than receiving letters, so I write him about once a week, sometimes more *nods
I know when he gets to reception, we'll do a lot of writing because we can't talk to eachother :(

WE USED TO WRITE EVERY DAY BUT LATELY WITH EVERYTHING GOING ON AND WORK AND SCHOOL I WRITE AT LEAST 3 A WEEK

yeah..i talked to him today and he was upset that i hadnt sent anything out yet..i wrote letters but have not finished them yet..i usually write at nite and i get too tired..i send cards for every holiday and all the time..constantly-i keep hallmark in business! lol! but i feel like i am letting him down as a fiancee at times becuz i dont write daily..there is not much to say.....what can i write if i just talked to him a few hours ago and saw him a few days ago!? i dont know what he expects!!! he is really depressed right now..so it is difficult...

I write Michael everyday and mail them out 2 to 3 times a week along with cards in between. .what ever makes him happy. not that i get a letter all that often... :)

j2sq... I know what you mean... I used to want to send him letters daily but then I'd get off the phone with him and be like Wait, i've already told him everything! So there's nothing left to write about... lol Right now, we talk as much as we can, but i'm using my sister's phone (we live together) and she can be shady with the phone sometimes... like right now :(

I write my Boo everyday I always think of stuff to tell him I like being creative.

I write my boo 3 times a week or letter everyday it depends on what all I have to say etc. However, the every day ones go out a the end of the week to save on postage.

I try to write my man once a day sometimes more depending on what I am feeling that day I have things that I have printed off the internet in the back of my basket of letters just waiting for a day I dont feel like writing so I can stuff it in an envelope and he will still know I am thinking about him. When I hand write his letters I usually do 2-3 pages because it takes so long but when I am typing his letters I usually do about 6-7 pages just because I can type it as I think it and it doesn't take that long. I get at least 4 letters back from him a week.

I write atleast a 4 page letter every day it takes three days for him to get it so the Monday night's letter I try to make 15-20 to get him through the weekend. He writes twice - three times a week usually 4-6 pages and calls every saturday night.

when i was "with" my friend i wrote abot 4-5x a week. It's easy to send a card or a postcard, or some jokes off the internet and it's still mail! i do that with him now too (really we're just friends now) so he'll get something at least 3x a week.

My husband and i have a routine. When i receive a lttr from him the next day i put one out and then he does the same thing. I try to do this and keep up with the rotation but i can get really busy with my daughter so he understands. Either way it goes he still gets his full lettr telling hime everything i've done. So he is caught up on the both of us.

Once a day, sometimes twice a day, but i can't visit or have phone calls yet...

I WRITE MY BOO EVERYDAY, AND ONCE ON THE WEEKENDS. I WASN'T WRITING AT ALL, BUT HE WAS JUST EXTRADITED TO DELAWARE, AND HE CAN ONLY CALL 2 TIMES A WEEK FOR 10 MINUTES PER CALL. BEFORE HE LEFT I WAS VISITING HIM 2x A WEEK, AND WE WERE TALKING EVERYDAY FOR AS LONG AS WE WANTED TO. WRITING TAKES A LITTLE GETTING USED TO BUT I'LL DO ANYTHING FOR MY BOO

I wright my husband every day me and are two kid's we tell him how are day has been .when he first got there they would ask him was it his birthday because he got alot of mail he said one morning on a sat they went to yelling mail call then went to saying walker walker over and over he told me he knew mail didn't run on sat they was jokeing with him but he told me are letter's and knowing we are here waiting for him is helping him get throw this, he wrights us alot to. and i no i look forward to his letter's as well as he does are's

I can't remember if I posted to this or not but just in case I didn't, here goes. When he was on another island I used to write to him about 2-3 times a week, more if I was missing him. Now that he's back here I don't write as often because I speak to him almost every day and see him once a week (all he's allowed at the facility). Soon though he'll have furlough and we'll get to spend weekends together (during the daytime that is...) but hey it'll be more time together so less to write about!!!

I write Jeff everyday. He said that the more we hear from each other the better and the closer it will keep our relationship going...

3-more times a week but I send them all together at the end or middle of the week. it's helps to cut postal costs. I also, try send his some fun things and send his cellie some mail also. Latly I've been making copies of photos for other inmates. I guess that they saw some ones that I've done for him and asked if I would be willing to do the same for them. However, I had to place a limit on how many I would do becuase, of costs. It also hads some extra money to his acount because, they give him the money that I spent for them.

I use to write everyday, than I got a letter from him and in the sunlight, I could read where he was writing love letters to a woman in the Womens Prison. I sent it back and had written what he had wrote to her back to him. Next letter I got was he didn't care what I thought anymore and couldn't stand the way I acted. Haven't heard from him since. I still write him everyday, but I don't mail them. He called Christmas Eve, said he wanted to see me. I won't go. Can't let him break my heart again.

I Think That You Should Write Your Man As Often As Is Bst For You. I Write My Man 2 To 3 Times A Week And Sometimes In Addition To That I Send Him Cards Or Things Related To That. Whenever I Think About Him Or Just Have Something To Say To Him I Just Write A Letter, Or When I Get One From Him And He's Talking About A Catchy Subject I Reply To What He's Talking About. So All In All I Don't Think It's A Good Or Bad Thing The Number Of Letters You Write...just Find A Comfort Zone For You And Go Off Of That.

Well I actually sit down and write a letter about 3 times a week and the rest of the days I send cards and other things I can find and I have sent out magazine subscriptions actually 6 different magazine subscriptions and I send at least 3 books a month and he has crossword puzzles and things like that and I send new photos once a month...
I know it sounds crazy like I dont have a life but I dont and wont until he comes home again.....
But I actually buy a card for everyday of the month I buy about 15-20 cards at a time and for christmas I sent 25 christmas cards to him one for everyday of the month till christmas and for his birthday I was going to do the same thing but it's on the 1st of the month so I'm trying to think of something special that will surprise him for it ...

Well that's just me but I think he likes it also...

I usually write in between calls, so about 2-3 times a week.

I'll keep running letters. when I mail one I'll start another one right away. somehow, in my head I think he'll get to know what I do all day that way. :rolleyes:

I write my honey everyday so I don't blow up a phone bill. I still worry about him though. He's my everything.

I write mine every day except sun. and i also love to send him cards of all kinds, while he was locked down in the hole it helped to keep him sane he said. Sometimes I do the same and send 2 or 3 a day if I am really depressed. But he loves getting mail and untill I came along he didn't get very much just once in a while. He always laughs and calls me his Hallmark lady.

I get mail sent out to Jassi atleast once a day. Whether i send him a card, letter, a cute story, jokes, drawings, or anything, i know it makes him feel good getting SOMETHING in the mail from me on a daily basis. I try to get as creative as possible, but its getting harder and harder to think of new things. Any ideas? =)

We both write everyday. With the crazy students that I have, I have plenty to write about. I wrote him today about the fight between the two fifth grade boys that little 5'2 me had to break up.

Oh my god, me too Kim. He's in Florida and Im in NY. It takes about 5-6 days for letter to get to us so its usually about 14 days between letters. The letters are always 10-15 (front and back) and we talk once ort twice a week on the phone since a 15 minute call is 20.00. I still feel horrible. I'll start writing tomorrow too!!!!!!

I write a couple times a MONTH-Its just that I get so sad when I write him-its just a weird thing I have about writing him...but there is nothing I can so about it. :shrug:

I send at least a four page letter everyday..and at least two cards a week, and our boys send a letter once a week to him...and he writes the boys once a week, and he writes everyday, but doesn't send in seperate envelopes....(he'll put fri. sat. and sun. letters in the same envelope since mail doesn't run on the weekends)

I write my baby atleast one time everyday and never less than 4 pages (and there usually alot longer) I always think well, I think about him all day, everyday so why shouldn't I write him. I just tell him how I am feeling, whats going on, and what I am thinking about (him!!!!!!!). The one day I didn't write him a letter and I was trying to go to sleep, but I felt sooo guilty. I had to get up and write him and I ended up staying up for 3 hours writing it!!!!!! I love him and it makes him feel better when I write to him. Hugs :p

I don't mail a letter everyday but i do write something down everday.it would cost too much to mail one everyday with my sucky pay. i will have something better in less than 2 weeks!

Wow don't I fill like the worst wife on this planet. I write my husband like once a month. Well I better get off the computer and get a pen and paper to let my boo know how much I love him.

wow... I write every single day- somedays more than once. He writes me each and every day, too. I just couldn't imagine it any other way. Even when we're sick or busy, a letter still arrives.

I write to Jeremy about 4 times a week on average and he writes back right away.

I write Bobby everyday in a journal format. Then we also have a "conversation" letter that is usually every week to two weeks. I also send him cards every once in while. I'm trying to get him to write me more because I need to hear from him (we don't talk on the phone yet). But I know that might not be possible.

I write Tony every day and he does the same...since feb 25th of this year I've received 157 letters from him...I guess we just want each other to know we're thinking about each other on a daily basis. We both talk about our days and what we're thinking and feeling...we've been working on our relationship this way...so it has really brought us closer and a better understanding of each other...HUGS...keiko

I USED TO WRITE LIKE TWICE A WEEK, BUT SINCE I MOVED TO MARYLAND, I TRY TO WRITE MON-THURS, AND THEN I HOLD MY WEEKEND LETTER AND WRITE FRI SAT SUN ALL IN THE SAME LETTER. JEFF WRITES ME TWICE A WEEK, IF IM LUCKY 3 TIMES BUT THATS RARE. I JUST WROTE HIM THE LONGEST LETTER I HAVE EVER WRITTEN HIM. IT WAS 10 FULL PAGES FRONT AND BACK. TO BAD 8 OR THEM WERE ME FLIPPING ON HIM!!! LOL!

I write my hunnie every single day!!! LOL..I'm in love yal. I think about him all the time.

I usually do all my writing on the weekend, unless something has happened that I need to let him know now, like all the Dr's appts I have been having recently.

I make it one long letter and I always throw in short 2-3 page handwritten letters too. So come Monday morning I have about 4-5 letters to mail out.

We write each day at least 20 pages long EXCEPT now -- we agreed to keeping a journal from the 10th of July til I visit and then make an entry in it after we see each other each day then mailing it to the other ... I HATE not hearing from him each day though :angry:

I write everyday and send letters, post cards, regular cards, stuff I print off the internet. And he writes me sometimes more than I write to him. And in all these years we have never ever run out of thangs to talk about. Ain't love grand???

I write everyday and send internet news. He really likes to get the ESPN sports pages! I have also sent him threads from PTO because he's always asking where I get my information and support about loving a prisoner!:thumbsup:

I never write my man. We know we got each other and we know either of use arent going anywhere. We talk on the phone everyday and see each other on weekends for 10 hours and hten on tuesdays for an hour. We dont feel the need to right letters. We talk for a total off prob. at least 15 hours a week on the phone and at visits. Theres not much i forget to say. Now That I Havent Seen My Man I Write Him Maybe 4 Times A Week Cuz We Need To Keep Our Communication Open And Strong. I Also Get A Weekly Phone Call Now In Addition To That. But Next Month When I Get To See Him Again We Will Probably Only Write Like Once Or Twice A Week Again....

I try to write my sweetheart once a day, sometimes twice a day. We are not allowed visits, so writing is the only way that we can communicate. And since the jail has put a block on the phone, so they can try and keep us apart, I have to tell him everything that is going on with his case through letters. I know that they read them, but if that makes them feel better, then so be it. It is the only thing they cannot take away from us.
