hi my boyfriend was took monday to dignostics and he called and said he was getting sent to brickeys and i have heard that is a rough place he got 3 yrs and he has been locked up since sept 3rd he tells me he should be out by march but i dont see how when it was 3 yrs does anyone know about how long u serve on a 3 yr sentence? i am so lost without him and worried about him and dont know what to do any help from anyone would be great and thank you lostwithouthim so sad and lonely

HI and welcome! My husband was at Brickeys early last year. It is one of the rougher prisons in Arkansas and while he was there they were having sanitary issues.

Depending on the level of felony you only do a portion of the time. Ex. my husband got 5 years on a B felony and only has to do 15 months. Basically you "do" 2-3 months for every year.

hi and thank you He got a class c felony 36 months and i went on here and it said his PE date was 10-30-04 but he had almost 4 months county jail time when they took him he says he thinks he will be out by march i am not holding my breath .. he called me and told me that he might not have to go to brickeys cause it was full now so i am praying he dont thank you and if there is anything that i can help u with just let me know i will do the best that i can thank you and hope u can have a merry xmas thanks renee

I know a lot of people get told they're going to Brickeys but most don't. My fiance was told he was going to Brickeys but they ended up sending him to Cummins instead. He said that more than half the people they said were going to Brickeys went other places.

thank you ... That is what he told me thursday when he called me that everyone that went out that day had brickeys on their papers but went somewhere else . I will just be glad when this is all over It is killing me . Inside and out. I am so depressed. he tells me he should get out in march but on here it said his pe date was oct 04 so i dont know what to think. take care god bless and merry xmas

There will be an EPA invoked (Early Release Act) in March. But you have to be 90 days from your PE date. They vote to enact this every 90 days so the next time would be in June. Which he probably would not catch. The next one is in September which he would definatly qualify for then. Not to much sooner than Oct but better than.

Also, an amendment to the EPA is that they can vote to let anyone out who is within one year of their TE date anytime the prisons are at 95% capacity for 30 consecutive days or the Jails are backloged by 500 prisoners. He already qualifys for this one!

I want to thank everyone of u that has offered me help and advise . This has been so hard on me and his kids it is killing me. We only pray he will get out soon. I pray for each and everyone one of u also. I am thankful that i found this site cause it has helped me so much. I just went to the arkansas site and it say's his pe date is 6/6/04 so maybe he might get to get out in march what do u think thanks lostwithouthim

Sounds like that is a definatle possibility. If they were going to give him credit for his jail time it would be in his court papers. I cant remember what the name of the order is but i think it starts with an A.

Your guy will still have to go up for parole. My husband's PE date is 6/19/04 and he just got his hearing date of February 25. So your guy should be having one soon also.

Hey, My name is Cathy I have a brother in the grimes unit email if you want and we can talk im so sorry your going through this tough time. He got 6 years and has been in county jail or grimes since march 21 2003 he is up for parole on feb. 4 he told me that since this is his first time in prison that his paper work goes before the board and he's doesnt attend, he thinks he will get out early on the emergency powers act I sure hope so.
