Jacqueline, Are you on medication now? Maybe you can admit yourself in hosp? Sounds like if your not on meds, you should be or maybe they need to be adjusted.Good luck to you and I hope you have a good doctor.

Valerie I have been on My meds for yrs. I was the lack of sleep that threw me into the manic stage I was in . I then became acute manic with psychotic systmes. If the doc knew anything about being psychotic he would had admitted me to the hospital. Have a good day, Jackie

My husband is currently in Arkansas prison with bipolar. They think he is fine and faking so don't give him meds or even bother to get medical records He is having a real rough time with it

well spraat i think you should have been given a breath test to check if you were intoxicated. if that would have come out negative then i think you should have been taken to a psych hospital to be evaluated. i work on a psych unit and we get a lot of people that are on a warrent.

I am diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder bipolar type, but my arrest and conviction were valid. I was knowingly breaking the law. Since you weren't even intoxicated, it doesn't seem like the criminal justice system should have been allowed to get away with what they did to you nor that you should have been convicted. Did you just plead guilty or something?

Yeah, it sounds like they didn't address the situation properly. I too am bipolar. I have been hospitalized before, most of the time I admit myself. I can tell when my behavior is getting out of control. For me it's just a necessary part of my illness. I also am on meds and see a therapist.

I am bipolar as well. One of the things i found out about a year ago was that you can now get Medicalert braclets that say Bipolar on them. that way the cops have to look at it, and if they dont respond correctly then you can sue the hell outta them..heheh :)

I have bipolar as well I was put on medication for it but I don't have problems with it much anymore it was more when I was in High School. I only take my meds when I feel I need them.

I too am Bi-polar and on medication. I do tend to see things but only when I start to relapse. I was told that I am borderline pshizaphrenic (spelling?) also and that is what causes me to see things. The only thing I ever see is a drop of water fall from a door way when I walk through. But it only happens once and like I said, right before I relapse. My love also has bi-polar but where he is (Huerfano in Walsenburg, Co) they won't give him meds. Does anyone know what the laws about that are or where I can find out something in regards to this? He is out in 54 days and I think it would be beneficial for him to be on meds before he gets out.

Cute response, kevsravven!

The police didn't correctly respond to the situation. Doesn't public intox also include use of illegal drugs? You could have APPEARED to be experiencing the effects of those...

I'm with kevsravven...get a med bracelet...great idea!

MY aunt is bipolar. In oklahoma there is a law that u have to have a medical review before the judge with a pshyciatrist<----spelled right? LOL anyways i think you were wrongly convicted and i would look into doing something about it if i were you!!! Hope all is well. ((HUGS))
