I'm kind of amazed (but pleased) that FOX News would tackle this subject...

Locked up for Life

This is the final part of a three-part series that takes a look at the case of Clarence Aaron, a one-time college student whose involvement in a 1993 cocaine deal got him three life sentences in federal prison.

-----
Clarence Aaron's road has been long.

Sentenced to three concurrent life terms in prison for introducing two drug dealers in 1993, he has spent the last 15 years in high-security federal prison. He is 39 years old and he will spend the rest of his life in prison — unless the president of the United States commutes his sentence.

Thank God you're always looking out for interest stories such as these... as much as I want for Lamont to be released, this man (and so many countless others) deserve to be released immediately...

This right here is a prime example of how the system has failed so many. Its one thing to make very bad decions and another to be punished for the rest of your life for them. Sure some people deserve to be but this man doesn't. I also found it very disturbing that the president can give his friend "scooter" the get out of jail free card with out him having to even apply for it but hasn't given it to countless others that deserve it more than he did. Our system has and is failing this man, there should be a petion on his behalf and it should be thrown on the presidents desk where he has to see it. We have Obama, and hopefully he will do the right thing for this man if Bush doesn't!

I almost cried when I read this story it is such a shame what happened to this young man. I hope and pray that one day he will be released he has paid his debt to society and then some there is no way that this punishment fits the crime my heart really goes out to him and others that are in a similar situation.

Excessive punishment no doubt, but...if he had not involved himself with drugs at all he would not have been in this mess.

Perhaps they could commute his sentence to "time served" (think that's the right term lol) since he has done 15 years. But it would set a dangerous precedent and Governors or even the US President may start pardoning people who should remain in prison.
