Has anyone noticed that the vending machines are woefully understocked at Ferguson? I have gone for the last three Sundays and not only were several machines broken but the ones that were left hardly had anything in them. I think that the machines that they have now are enough if they were fixed but they have been broken for weeks now. Has anyone complained to the Warden about this? I know that my hubby so looks forward to snacktime. Would anybody be interested in approaching the Warden as a group?

I get regular visits with my man, and every week we check to see if the ice cream machine works cause he really wants some ice cream! and its been out of order since he got there, in august!! I havent had any other problems with the machines their being understocked, only on the weekend after the lockdown was over...they were almost empty!!! But you get contact visits right?

I actually called the warden about this and I talked to his secretary. She told me that the lady comes twice a week to fix the machines and re-stock them and she gets very discouraged because when she gets there on Tuesdays, there is always at least 1 machine that is completely full but not working. She said it was because kids stick all kinds of things in there and jam it up. The wardens secretary told me that she would talk with the lady and see if anything else could be done. I went to visit again last Sunday and all of the machines were working and they were all full. Who knows maybe it worked...I guess we will see;)

I have heard that most CO's now use them regularly as well now that they aren't allowed to bring in as much food so there are more people using them.
I remember one time there was a machine in the contact room that gave you the food and your money back plus. Those days are over :(. Hey, with how much money gets taken from us in the machines it was nice :).

We don't get contact because he is in seg. That ice cream machineis such a temptation too... it will probably get fixed in January or something. I go to visit on Sundays and the machines are usually pretty low by then.

Are you talking about the machines in contact? We have to be in the other area. I hope that she gets around there soon because one of those machines has been broken for the last month. That ONE machine can't be jammed every time... Man, you talked to the secretary. Let me tell you, I can write soon letters but when it actually comes down to talking to someone on the unit, I get antsy. I can talk to parole people, I can raise cain with the STG management group people and classification but there is this little overly paranoid voice that keeps me from making waves with someone who could have actual contact with my hubby. But they say if you start listening to those voices in your head, you can get into a whole world of trouble!
