New to this site - cousin (more like sister) transferred to Tutwiler from county in Sept. Not sure how things work yet.

I read the rules on the website - the rules say they can get four envelopes, four sheets of paper, and a book of stamps per week. Then I read on here that they can't get envelopes?

I sent her a money order, but don't know if I'm on her list - surely I am. Her mother and I would be the only people on earth who would send her money at this point. Are there restrictions as to who can be on her money list?

Her mom sent her money and she bought herself shoes which were stolen the first day she got them. :mad: She said the guards make comments and laugh at them when they take showers - very humiliating experience.

Did you read about the no envelopes here in the Tutwiler subforum, or one of the other Alabama subforums?

Because unless it was here in the Tutwiler subforum, then envelopes are probably fine there if it says it on the website.

BUT that stuff is always subject to change (in fact Limestone just recently changed their mail rules again), and every Alabama facility has slightly different rules sometimes.

As for the money order - well, I don't know. She has to turn in a visitation list and a funds list when she arrives at the prison and they have to approve it. I would guess she put you on it from what you say, but only she would know.

I am sure they have disapproved some funds lists before but I have never heard of anyone not being approved, I don't think there's many restrictions there. They do have some rules when it comes to visitation lists, but I've never been aware of any major restrictions about funds lists. I would suspect the main reason any ever get sent back unapproved is only because they weren't filled out properly.

My Girlfriend said I could send her 3 at a time. As far as sending money you can also send wesrtern union quick collect there as well. I feel safer doing that, because no other inmate can see how much she has. I am freaking out tho about the gaurds watching them in the shower!!!!!
