Can I mail them myself from my post office or do I have to have a store mail them? I am seeing some posts that suggest that you cannot mail books and magazines yourself. I just mailed 5 magazines! Shoulda asked this before I did.

yes you can mail things to inmates in rikers and i heard its better then taking it in person cause certain things they wont accept on visit days they will accept it in the mail.i personally havnt mailed anything over there but i was told this info by alot of people that always go there. i hope i was to some help for you.

Just no hard cover books-they don't accept those.

It's alot better to just mail the packages to them so that you don't have to wait on those lines for so long before you actually get on your visit. The only time your gonna have to have the stores or companies to mail it to him is when he gets upstate, if he's going up, other then that your good you can do it all.
