Hello...Does anyone have any information on what what can be mailed in? (stamps, envelopes or stationary )...If so, how many of each per letter?...Do they earn any funds for working at the facility?...Thanks!!!...

I hope you have a very happy Xmas too Sondra.
I don`t know about the places you mention, but I do know about stamps. The number you send in can`t exceed a value of more than $7.40. There is a heap of info on the Florida DOC web site about what you can send, but I don`t know how clear it is, as they said it was OK to send 10 blank cards. I sent 8, and had them returned, with a note saying I had sent in too many!
Maybe they can`t count!

Feline, I had that happened to me. I was told I could sent 10 envelopes, so I sent air mail envelopes and they came back, so I thought it may be the plain white stuff, I still dont have a clue.
You can send 10 envelopes, 20oz stamps, some blank paper (10 I believe) and I send blank cards, like christmas and birthday and stuff so he has spares, but I only send 5 at a time, and his got them. There is all the info on the DOC site, but as Feline said, they dont make it that clear.

When they returned the items did they give your loved ones their letters or the things they could have or did they return the whole package?...I just sent out a book of 20 stamps and 10 plain white envelopes by priority mail to my pen pal and was hoping he wouldn't get into any trouble over it...The cards and letter were to him and not blank, so that shouldn't be a problem...Thanks ya'll and it was nice meeting you too!!!

I've had lots returned to me. It really depends on who's in the mail room. One time it will be ok the next it gets rejected. No they don't give them the letter. They return it all to you. Only thing he gets is saying they rejected something from me. So at least he knows I sent something to him.
I believe it is 10 blank pieces of paper, 5 envelopes. If you send like crossword puzzles or such you can only send 5 at time.
Hope this helps a little.

Mine normally get through, but thats death row, so I am not sure about other stuff. I believe as well, its up to whose in the mailroom. I have only had one letter returned, and that was with the airmail envelopes, but everything else I have sent has got through. I cant figure them out either. I dont understand that, like they could take whatever out, and give him the letter etc, it costs more to send it back, doubling up on postage, but I guess they dont care.

you can only send things by usps ground mail from what the doc rules says. They return anything other than that. And when you sent the 8 cards were there 8 envelopes too? You can only have a maximum of ten cards/envelopes/stationary, and they count cards plus the envelopes with them. So that would make 16. Prolly why they returned them. Sorry, I know some of this is confusing. it's all in chapter 33 tho. You have to read this stuff over and over before it starts to make sense cuz it is written in a confusing way. Good luck in the future. And Happy Hollidays. By the way, do they have visiting on New Years???

What I sent in was his letter, 2 cards but they were addressed with his DOC # and my return addy, (not blank) 20 stamps and 10 plain white envelopes...I sent it USPS Priority mail, so I sure hope they let him have it...If not, I'll just re-send it and maybe he'll get it before Christmas...Thanks ya'll for all of your help...
