Has anyone heard about Tutwiler being condemned and Easterling being turned into a womens prison.My husband is in E.C.F...I was told that Easterling had until 01/01/09 to move all inmates out of Easterling,So they can move the female inmates in.....

Hmmm. Well, I haven't heard anything about that, but it wouldn't really surprise me if that or something similar were true. Tutwiler (and Draper for that matter) are old, old facilities and it would certainly never surprise me to hear either one is being closed.

However - 01/01/2009 seems awfully soon if this is a new thing. I guess if it's true we will find out about it for sure eventually tho...

Easterling is in Clio, about a half hour southeast of Troy (which is about an hour or so south of Montgomery).
