This is my first post here and so far have enjoyed some of the other threads. Some great insight here.

I have a question regarding Mimico. I was sentenced last week and am set to start weekends (30 days) at EMDC in London. I already put in my 1 day in the hold there and was hoping I could transfer to Brantford jail. My lawyer nor the judge or crown at anytime had told me this couldn't be done, therefore I will be going to London every wknd. Now here is where it gets dicey. Because they are so overcrowded in EMDC, the wknders get shipped to Mimico.(according to someone who works in the front office there). So I'll take an hour to get to EMDC, get on a bus/van whatever, and ship out at least 2 hours to mimico. I'm now thinking I would be better off to transfer direct to Mimico.

Does anyone know much about Mimico in Etobicoke? I haven't been able to find any info on it here. Is it a dorm setting like the old Birch Centre was, or do they have cells?

Another thought just came to mind. With winter approaching, what happens if I get stuck in a snow storm or delayed or simply can't get there due to the weather by my sign in time?
