I just got a letter yesterday from my husband who is at san
quentin, and he told me that the mail room is backed with
mail, and that he won't hear from me for at least two weeks.
how can we resolve this? A inmate most treasured procession
is mail from home!

My fiance is in SQ also. His latest letter 12/4 got here in like 3 days. I've been sending cards, stamps, money order, etc. for the last month. I sent him a Thanksgiving card around 11/12 he said he just got it.
But then he wants to know why I ain't been writing!!! It really makes me upset for him to think that considering my daily (sometimes twice a day) I've been sending a card or letter).
Another factor is he is in the "hole" which may account for the delay. Something I don't get is I thought the hole meant no contact w/anyone, but the letter he sent was on paper I never sent nor the envelope, but he mentioned he got it from his homie!
Can anyone tell me what that means...to be in the hole?

It means he's in a segregation cell away from general population where they don't get to mingle with other prisoners and their privileges are very limited. They usually only get about an hour a day out of their cell.

I guess that I will be ssending my hubby all the letters that
I have written to him by express delivery, and the one that
is most important is i got news that we are expecting. He is
on a parole hold for leaving the county of san diego without
permission, well I am going to fight the state for a transfer and reduction in time, come a technical violator and they want
to give him 8 months straight time with no credits applied, how C.S. is that? Thank god there will be major changes with
parole and prison reform coming the new year!!!
I hate the SQ mail...my brother just got the letter I wrote 12/1. Sometimes I send him a postcard just to let him know I havn't forgotten him. His mail gets to me in 1-3 days.
The worst time was when he first got there, and he had no mail for almost 3 weeks. He was in a panic thinking everyone wrote him off.
After a while the mail flows regularly, even though its delayed. At least he gets it regularly, even if we've caught up during visits and phone calls by the time he gets it.
